2018 Pana Turbo S E-Hybrid released

Dealer called to say it's released from the Houston port and should be here in Chicago area in a few days. I guess the EPA cert is done. Looking forward to this new daily driver. Replacing a 2016 Pana Turbo S. The A/B comparison will be interesting. For those of you waiting, it shouldn't be long now.

After just reading your post, I called my dealer to see what was going on with my Turbo S E-Hybrid ... it's been sitting in port since Halloween.
He said it had been released to transportation on April 6.
Should be soon!
Whoopee!!!!

Both of you have really nice, slim collections. Very cool! OP, your red 12 o'clock marker is an absolute delight.

My Turbo S e-hybrid arrived at the dealer today after having been at the port since last November.

Excellent!

Maybe mine will show up soon.

It's been in Rhode Island since about Halloween.

I’ll try my best.

Golf cart mode is amazing. I love it and our Mission E future is looking bright. I think the world needs a little more infrastructure before all electric is the best solution. Golf cart plus twin turbo V-8 is really fun and sounds great.

The ride in the previous turbo S was a deal breaker and kept me away. It’s not supposed to be a GT. I’m sure suspension technology and programmability has come a long way because it handles well and has a really nice ride now.

Best factory sound system ever put in a car.

Technology, fit and finish are impressive. Even the green looks good - sporty but still classy enough.

Its a current S class with Porsche looks, feel and performance.

CHADW,

Did you have a chance to compare that to a normal e-Hybrid. I was tossing up a coin to go for the "S" or not. 134K vs 205K. I was thinking on a normal day to day drive, the lighter e Hybrid would be actually quicker 0-30 or 0-40. But once those v8-turbo spins up, that must be explosive. I really which they would make a 4S 440hp engine + the electric engine instead of 330hp engine + Electric engine. Something like a 4s+ Hybrid for about 35K more.

There is a standard hybrid at my dealer with 60k in options. Overkill for sure but very well done. It even sounds really good with the V-6. But it does not compare to the Turbo S.

The new Turbo S is very special. It’s not a standard car with a bigger engine much like a GT car is not a Carrera with more power. It feels like an exercise to build the best car possible, cost be damned. Considering it’s essentially the same price as a 911 Turbo S, not only is it an amazing value but I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t lose money on every one.

I expect depreciation to be swift and therefore an expensive car to own but worth every penny.

As far as power is concerned, I would go the other way. I’d happily give up 100 ICE hp for 100 more electric. 350-400hp each would be so good at everything.
