Panamera e-hybrid - EPA Cerification
#16
Hello end9472... Our cars must have been on the same boat and in Houston.. Mine there since September as well. I received the same information from my SA that EPA is still due in March.
This process has been so confusing as there is so much miscommunication on all fronts. This is almost "4E GATE" as I am now thinking our cars were abducted by aliens and running around on
Mars...

From what Ive heard from my dealer: No.
Doesn't really make sense if the car was EPA cert then all the states that aren't CARB should have access to their cars then right? This process is beyond annoying and the fact PCNA can't say a consistent statement is ludicrous. How incompetent do you have to be to let this nonsense keep going. There are multiple ppl on this forum who have dropped 130k+ cash on these cars. Terrible customer service by PCNA. At least my dealer is stand up tho.
Rant over.

s-works, sounds like the cars are in good company! Not sure I'd mind if they were abducted to Mars; at least they'd be exercised. While Porsche and the SA's will tell you they will check everything out to ensure the cars are 100% upon delivery, sitting in a warehouse for 6 months is less than ideal, even if they are occasionally moved/started/charged.
911topanamera, couldn't agree more with your sentiments. Beyond me why PCNA doesn't just tell us what is going on. While they may lose a few orders (doubtful since what else out there compares to this car right now), the truth would seem better than all the rumors, speculation and frustration their wall of silence breeds. Let's hope we all here some good news in the next week or so. If the car is even half as great as everyone else says, this will all be (mostly) forgotten.

Posted this on the other E-Hybrid thread. I received an email from my contact at CARB yesterday. He said he has received all the information he needs from Porsche and he has submitted the EO for management approval for the 2018 Panamera 4 E-Hybrid CARB certification. He said management approval usually takes a few days for management to review and sign off so hopefully end of this week or early next week. Then once that occurs hopefully the cars will start shipping quickly.

I spoke to a dealer today who was in contact with a PCNA regional guy who claimed everything passed and they are now updating software and testing cars that are stuck in port. He said the e-hybrids should start shipping to dealers "in a few days". I'm guessing there is some hopeful optimism, but at least it seems like things are moving forward.

This is gonna turn into a race to see who can post the first picture of their e-hybrid . Game on.

Everything is done except for final CARB management approval. Sent another email today to my contact at CARB to see what is taking them so long to approve his submission. I'm hoping it will be certified before Friday and the cars will start shipping this week, but we won't know for sure until it really happens!!

CARB's pattern seems to be to sign executive order late in the week, and publish it early the following week. If that remains the case, the e-Hybrids have not yet been certified. Later this week? Who knows?

Yes, I recognize the irony, but I pray that the next post in this thread is someone providing 100% verified proof of EPA approval . I get so excited when I see a new message here, only inevitably to be crushed. Hang in there everyone!

Panamera 4 E-Hybrid CARB and EPA certs
I have patiently been awaiting release of a 2018 4 E-Hybrid since August, latest word having been that the certs would be done in mid-March (which is right now). Just today, I made an inquiry via Google Search, which led ultimately to my having found the website of a dealership in NJ which has 7 4 E-Hybrids and one Turbo S E-Hybrid in stock. "How can that be?" I asked. I placed a question for the dealership and will hopefully have an answer tomorrow. In the meantime, this may be an indication that cars will be moving across the Atlantic (mine has been stuck in Emden since a late 07/2017 assembly date) in the near future.

Did you try calling them? If NJ is not a CARB state then it could be possible they have received some cars. As robw33 indicated in an earlier post the EPA certified the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid a few weeks back. robw33 indicated his dealer told him Porsche has been holding all the cars for software updates and testing. CARB still have not given final management approval although the EO was submitted by the CARB Porsche specialist over a week ago. Hopefully CARB management will sign off this week and the cars will all start shipping.

I received a call from my dealer this evening and was told that they had just received notification from PCNA that the Panamera 4 E Hybrid was just given certification by the EPA. They expect CARB by March 30. Maybe this is for real this time, my fellow Hybrid bloggers.
