Default PDK and garage door opener 2018 Panamera turbo

I have these 2 persistent problems. When I shift from park to reverse or park to drive, There is a delay that is required after the shifter button is pressed before the transmission shifts. The dealer tells me this is normal. Is that correct? It is annoying.
The second issue is my 2 garage openers can not be programmed despite new batteries and a supposed dealer upgrade to the car. Homelink is of no help. They have the service outsourced to another company. Any thoughts? RCB

It is a short delay. I must give the gear shift button a second before shifting. I am used to pressing the button and shifting at the same time. Am I expecting too much? RCB

I noticed this too in our 4.
I have to do Drive twice. Sometimes I think I’ve switched but I’m still in Reverse.

I am assuming you are aware of the two steps required to learn most garage door openers. First the car must learn the remote, then the garage opener must learn the car.

VW group may have gone cheap on the new garage door openers. On my Sport Turismo the opener works for a week and looses program. On my 2018 TTRS it did the exact same thing and was an item under investigation. Paying over 100k you'd expect something so trivial to work. They should replace all the openers with the older units or something.

i have the same problem. No go on garage opener. Every other car I’ve had over the last 15 years, including 4 previous Porsches, (including 2017 991.2) worked with no issues.

im going to post a new thread with other ‘features’ I’ve discovered so far.

It lost signal again. It seems ever 1.5 weeks like the 2018TTRS. I wish Porsche stop using Audi/VW cut cost parts which is basically everything you can't touch or see. This garage opener is unacceptable for a six figure car whereas a cheap Honda has no issues.

I have had the same issue with Homelink on my 2018 4. I actually ordered a new OEM garage door opener, and it still will not work...I can't even get past the first step in the process. I have had it back to the dealership several times, and unfortunately they have no fix at this time. The Service Manager at the dealership, who I have known for a long time and trust, told me that they are waiting for information from Porsche to see how/when/if it will be addressed. I agree with a previous poster(s), its pretty frustrating that in a $100,000+ car this can't be fixed. My $22,000 Subaru works perfect every time.

I have a 2018 4S for four months and have not encountered any issue with the garage door opener. I followed a video from Porsche of Ocala on how to install the garage door opener for the new Panamera. Here is the link
Hope its helpful.

The last time I pushed the button on my unit non of my other cars' opener worked. Interesting to program it a few times. I'll try this and see if this holds bind. Thanks for the info. If this work it should be sticky to the top or under FAQS.

I just want to add that this method of program still does not work for me. I will be really upset if my 2018 911 GT3 will have the same issue when I get that next month.

I don’t think that’s the issue with the garage door openers. They work just fine on my Audis. Porsche should have just used the Audi system and we wouldn’t be having these ridiculous issues with a six figure car.

This fuse box is located under the passenger seat of the new panamera. Under a designated cover that says Vin on it
Hey guys! I'm actually the one that made that Panamera Garage door Setup-up video!
Yes I have seen MANY problems with the 2018 model Panamera's.
According to one of our techs that I had investigate the problem,
At some point...According to Porsche. The Lane change assist shares the same ground as the Homelink system...
So in order for it to work you need to temporarily disconnect Fuse#10 and Fuse#12 until you can get the pad paired with the car.
then re connect the fuses.
As strange as it sounds this is currently the only solution I've come to know.
If you have any questions, you can contact me at the number located in the video.
352-861-0234.
I won't be checking this very often so I wanted to help you guys out the best I can. I will attach the picture of the fuses in question in a moment

I have a 2018 Panny with Lane Assist, and have been unable to program my garage opener as well. I'm considering trying temporarily removing the fuses as mentioned above.

Just wondering if any other owners of a 2018 Panny with Lane Assist have tried the fuse solution, or have had success with the garage opener in some other way
