Fuel Filler Flap - 2017 Panamera 4
.
Hi.
Does anyone else encounter problems with opening the fuel filler flap when filling up at the petrol station (UK)?
I noticed this issue on two Panameras that I borrowed as demo cars, and I have the same issue on my own 2017 Panamera 4.
It is very frustrating standing beside your £85k Porsche and being unable to easily open the fuel filler cap!
I have mentioned to the local OPC, but did not really get a satisfactory response.
I will raise the problem again next time I am there, but does anyone else with a 2017 Panamera experience this annoying issue?
Cheers.

Yes, i have it on my car, and it's been there since day 1. The flap has to be pushed really hard or it won't open. Several other people have reported the same thing, and one went so far as to check with another new car in the dealer's lot, and it was the same. So it appears that the latch is designed that way. Let us know if your OPC fin

I will update after my next visit to the OPC.

Thanks. Glad I am not alone! ;-)
So is it just a case of giving it a really hard press...?!

It's very annoying but a hard push will do it. Can't wait to have this fixed at the first service.

I had both my filler caps replaced. While I was at the dealership demonstrating the sticky electric filler cap the fuel one failed to open at all! So, they ended up replacing both. Not had an issue since (except when the charging cable release button froze and wouldn’t depress! But that’s a different issue)

I had serious issues with sticking fuel and charging flaps on my July Panamera 4e hybrid..It landed me in a few embarrassing situations while re-fueling at petrol stations..They tried to resolve it at Silverstone PEC when i did my GT3 experience day but to no avail..I then booked it into Cardiff OPC to try and get it sorted but the problem still persisted..I then attended the Sport Turismo launch party and loved it from an aesthetics pov and p/xed my Panamera saloon for a black Sport Turismo.
Anyway no problems on the new car so it seems the problem was very common on early build Panamera hybrids.I think the problem was caused by misaligned flaps which didn't release but hopefully its now been resolved.

Thanks for the responses. Good to hear that I am clearly not the only one affected.
Same issue yesterday when refuelling. :-(
Some of the above comments relate to 2017 hybrids, but mine is a petrol.
Next time I'm at the OPC, I will check the two Panameras they have in their showroom.
If the outer flap is replaced, does it come pre-painted in the correct colour...?
Thanks, all.

I've done 2 fill ups on my wife's new 2018 Panamera 4. The fuel door opens fine, but it does take pressure. My concern is will this cause scratches to the paint on that section of the fuel door. Has anyone experienced this?
We had the front end, hood (bonnet for our UK friends ) and door handle wells covered with Xpel Ultimate film. I'm wondering if I should have the fuel door covered.

Thanks for the update, from over here in the U.K.
Mine is an earlier build (picked up March 2017) and mine needs more than simply a hard push. Feels like something isn't aligned correctly...
