Heater hose and connectors
Smelled coolant - again. Have already replaced the plastic vent line under the manifold. Feared it was the pressed fitting on the rear engine crossover (which BTW has been discontinued - why?), but a pressure test showed a few drips coming from the two hoses that connect at the firewall that I am calling heater hoses. Anyone else seen this problem?

Porsche Part number 948-106-026-22 Coolant Vent Line. Common problem. Medium mechanic skills to replace. Inexpensive parts, lots of labor cost at dealership.

Photo of heater hoses
Here is a photo of the hoses and connectors that I am referring to. In the photo you can see dried coolant residue over much of the back of the engine bay. That residue was from the coolant vent line failure two years ago. That failure occurred when I was down in Florida and had to have the Sarasota dealer do the repair. Disappointing that they didn't clean the area up better because now it is more difficult to determine "new" residue from "old" which would have aided in identifying the source of the new leak. The pressure test definitely produced drips at the heater hose connection. I'm not familiar with these types of connectors and wonder if they are prone to fail over 10 years and/or 160K. Having typed that I would think the answer is, "well yeah, rubber hoses don't last forever." Still, I'm wondering if I'm the first to have this failure or is it another quirk of Panamera cooling system.
