Default PSI levels on 21 inch rims

Have a 2018 4s with 21s

Tires needed air and I noticed the dealer kept the pressure way below what’s on the door.

I put air in all tires to where the door label said they should be. Now it’s a really really rough ride. What do most of you have?

Check your manual as I believe there are two different recommended tire pressure settings. Your dealer may have set the tires for "comfort"? The door label is the higher "full load" pressure.

Well they both have air suspension do they not? One is just upgraded - which personally I did not feel much of a difference

From everything I've read on this forum the PASM should make quite a bit of difference in the ride quality. It is a $2000 option on the 4S.

Hmmm thought the 4s and Turbo came with it. I am new to Porsche coming from a couple of Audi's - for my driving habits and when I test drove both base and 4S did not see a huge difference but to each their own.

The base Panamera and the 4S do not come standard with PASM so if the two models you drove didn't have PASM you would not have noticed any difference in ride quality. The E-Hybrid does include PASM as standard and I believe the Turbo has it as standard as well.

The door label states that these are the max load pressures.

I did the same thing as the OP with a 2018 4S w/21" OEM Pirelli. Dealer delivered car with random settings that did not make sense, so I looked at the door panel and mine says 41 front/48 rear (all measurements with cold tires). Pumped to those and it got very rough picking, up all of the defects in the road. I looked in the Car/Control section of the center display screen and it had my specific tire model (21 Summer Pirelli) listed with settings listed for standard 36F/41R, comfort 33F/33R, and full load 41F/48R. The default is standard, but you can select comfort or full load - I think the TPM uses the selection you choose as baseline to alarm if the pressure drifts too much. I set mine to standard and very happy with how it feels.
