Default PDK in Panamera (2017)

My 3 month old Panamera is showing transmission problems. During the slowdown and in the process of coming to a stop, the transmission does not shift smoothly between 3rd and 2ndgear. Makes mechanical 'clunking' type noise at the 3-2-1 gear steps. Sometimes, the same problem arises during downshifting between 2nd and 1st gear. Porsche said this is a software problem, therefore, reloaded the PDK software. However, the problem repeats itself. Have experienced this problem? Possible solutions?

You should request for a transmission replacement.

Second that, at least you should inform your dealer ASAP that the problem remains and that you lost faith in the current PDK.

bring it back and let them check out their re load procedure... it s amazing what the computer software has on the impact of cars engines, transmissions etc... I would hope for that before rushing into a new trans on a new car. BTW those things cost over $20K, not that you are paying but that will be their last resort. Best of luck.

Is this issue a cause for concern? I'm in the market for a new Panamera and would hate to get a car with issues like this. For those that have this problem, which model Panamera do you own?

same issue here. Took it to the dealer and they said it is same in all the Panameras they have in the lot. not sure if this issue is an area of concern though. mine is the standard Panamera with the Bordeaux red interior.

I have same problem, dealer is not bodering themselves and telling this is normal. Even not reloading software, is here anybody can assist?!

I don't know if its just me getting used to it but I swear it seems better. I have almost 4000 miles on it now. I know it adapts to your driving style so maybe that is it. Does not seem as abrupt as it did initially

I have 5k miles on the clock and maybe notice some slight knocking 1 in 20 drives, from 2 to 1. It does get better for whatever reason.

I have 4.3k miles and had the dealer recalbrate my transmission about 3 weeks ago. Shifting from 1-2 felt bad at any speed. They messed with the fluid levels and there was a code inside of the PDK that basically said it had never self-calibrated or "trained" itself. I'll post what the fix was but it feels much better now. I have a 2018 PTT

Thumbs down Panamara 2017 transmission

Same issue here, noticed that since bought it. Was hoping it will go away during break in period. It didn't. Took it to Porsche at about 4600 miles. They said its a software, they updated it, and it seemed like the problem was corrected. However, since the software update after about 200 miles the "clunking" sound returned. Called Porsche last week and they said it has to be taken to Porsche to escalate the issue. Funny thing they keep saying I am the only owner reporting it but reading this forum it appears that there is more people in my shoes. So disappointed!

Are the newer models using first gear regularly. My 2012 never gets to first gear unless I choose it.
