6.2L V8 DOHC from GM revving to 9KRPM... wow, I do like the sound of that.
If it sounds better than the current Camaro or Z, I am down!

The tangible advantage must be the ability to rev much higher and produce high hp without forced induction (which is causing lots of headaches for their track-driven products, like the Z06). An engine of this size making 113 hp/L (much less than GT3) would make 700 hp and a conservative 100 hp/L would make 620 hp...
I have followed their "overheating" thread for quite sometime and they seem to be doing ok. tons of track videos and comments, so far 7MT has no issues.
Would like to see summer runs with the 17's.

Some of the heat issues has been resolved on the 17's forward. They changed the designed to the supercharger lid, coolers and a few components, aside of that the 7MT's don't share the overheating issues with the A8's.

Yes it has. Mainly when they let the car shifts automatically. It stays in high revs the entire time, Tadge recommended they manually shift the car while tracking them then he also recommended a 7MT Z06 for the track enthusiast.

I love the sound of the GT350, can't imagine what a 6.2 with DOHC would do.
I am surprised that out of all the (OT) topics no one considered the Z06 7MT as a tack car, it does outrun the GT3 on tracks and has a lot of grip.

My understanding was DOHC was a packaging issue with the low hood line in the vette. Maybe they will have a bump. I can't see even widening the angle of the V providing enough room without getting into the rails.

If they have room for the SC (even the new designed lid that's 2" taller) I am sure they will find a way to fit that in there... The rumors are that it will be a super low production car well north of 120K.

They will build enough to meet demand. They are not that short sighted like some other mfgs

But local mfg's. have a different philosophy on controlling the market. They would mark up the car way up that the average Z06 owner would not want it or couldn't afford it... It happened when the ZR1 came out.
A lot Chevrolet dealer a few years ago had a ZR1 on their showroom surrounded with barriers, you weren't allowed to even touch it... and market up 20K...
The other day I visited a local dealer at which I bought MANY cars and wanted to test drive a 7MT Z06 and they declined lol... I told the GM, who is a friend of mine, that I was able to test drive Mclarens, 911's with MSRP triple that car, why couldn't test drive that Z06 that has already been marked down and is offered to me at 12% off? He said it is a buyer's mentality, they wouldn't want to buy a Z with miles on it. Hopefully this kinda explains anything. Sorry for going on a tangent.

I am not sure if they will build enough, and what we would consider "enough".

I wanted to test drive a 991.1 GT3 that a local dealer had on the lot when I was shopping. The salesman laughed at me, so I drove SGroer's car and bought one on RL.

That's quite sad, my local dealer, though they are the dumbest on pricing their product compared to the rest of the market, didn't mind letting drive anything they had, short of the Voodoo Blue 918 they currently have inside their showroom right now, with no signs on it that says don't touch.
