" said Al Oppenheiser, Camaro chief engineer. "While the Camaro ZL1 offers exceptional performance on the street, the drag strip, and the track, the Z/28 is entirely focused on the track performance. The Z/28 will be too track-focused for most drivers, but offers road-racers one of the most capable track cars ever offered from an automaker."

Agree with Trakcar about the FEEL. Owned a Boss 302, tracked at a David Murry event at VIR last year. Plenty of fun but the handling is not sharp, afterall it does weight 3600 lbs so it like having 3 fat guys in the car. Still the Z28 is very tempting....so I may buy and track 3800 lb Camaro because I am a slow learner.

Even if fail, RESPECT for trying.

What's your lap time in GT3 and Boss at VIR?

Don't have the numbers but I bet I was at least 5 seconds slower on the full course compared to the GT3. The GT3's just left me in the corners and could easily out brake me at the end of both straights. Also had throttle oversteer around Oak Tree, it cost a lot of speed but it was fun to drive. Plus the D. Murry drivers are very fast! However, it takes a talented driver to extract all the capabilities out of the GT3 whereas I find the Boss easier to drive since it is not as refined.

The brakes look fantastic. Proof is in the pudding as to how they actually work on track with a very heavy car. IMO if they work as well as they look, and body roll is mimimized, this car is full of win.

BOSS 302 was never a lap time competitor vs GT3, never in question. BOSS 302 very nice street car, way too many compromises for a track car. The new Viper, C7 and now this monster Z28 have changed everything. Proof is in the pudding, but I see the writing on the wall and it is bolded, neon and 72 font size

+1. 305 square tire setup FTW. That speaks volumes, they want this beast to turn.
