Plasti-dip is just another trend IMO that will end up running it's course. Any "paint" that requires no surface prep is just asking to come off in a couple months. You get what you put in when it comes to painting IMO, 90% of good paint jobs are in the prep.

Matter of fact one of the clean up boys (detailer) at the dealership has a Tiburon and plasti-dipped the "gills" and fuel door, the first coat came out like ****, but i knew it would flatten out as it dries, must have been a bad nozzle, after a couple coats it didn't look too bad from 2 or 3 feet away even but up close it wasn't a true matte finish. It was more of a textured finish, very inconsistent. It almost looked like spray on tar based undercoating up close, same texture, same feel. It has it's place, like for making a daily driver beater look presentable on the cheap, but that's about it IMO. Has no place being on rims or brakes.
