The C7 Stingray Z51 is quicker around VIR than the C6 Z06. MT, C&D, fastestlaps, all report it's not a little quicker. Quicker than the GTR lap dance edition with 545hp, AWD and DCT, too. The chassis and gearing are compensating for displacement and power deficit, plus excellent brakes and reasonably good curb weight, I guess.

Here's the first snippet of someone getting the C7 to Nurburgring. It looks remarkably clean and tidy at speed over difficult surface transitions. Surely the driver is involved, but the car is clearly well sorted.

Thanks, I meant spending more for the Z06 equivalent of the C7, I guess the Z07 as Mvez called it the upcoming Z06.
The Z06 can be had for very close to the C7 price.

The car sits so high in most pictures standing still, at first I was hoping it was just the pre-production or US ride height etc. but even this test car seems to sit to high to sit pretty, the car is very compliant compressing and coming out of the springs a lot on cornering and acceleration.
Sure seems to work and looks like fun to drive at Sebring.

The C7 could be an telling test case to support or refute the idea that "today's buyers" prefer to buy automatics.

I wonder what percentage of C7's will be ordered with an automatic?

Anyone here considering an automatic C7?

I have no choice but that is why I'm staying with my wanna be GTS with PDK because its not exactly like a automatic and it rev matches downshift unlike the automatic in the Vette. If Vette comes out with a PDK like transmission that is as durable, shifts fast and rev matches I'm all over that Vette.

The rev match in the 7 speed manual allows one to turn it on or off via the paddles on the steering wheel.
I find it easy to heel toe with my GT3 on the track but harder to do on the street due to legal speeds and ceramics.

Sold my 09 c4s with PDK ; hardly drove it past year. 3k miles. To me it was a depreciating asset. IMO . Kept the 3.

This. Still fantasizing abut this car with less weight, more aero, way more power and some R-comps standard.

I want the Z51, but the prospects of what the Z will offer are too tempting.

GM appears to be putting R comp Trofeos on the Z/28... plus Brembo carbon ceramic brakes and Mutlimatic DSSV dampers.

If GM does this with the C7 Z06, then... wow.

Of course that's what they will do, than a Plus version with even more power!
Its going to be pointing by Vette's again, RWS, PDK-S or not.

The old C6 Z06 already had the option to put on Sport Cups, mag dampers and ceramic brakes. The new Z07 will certainly have those options and probably a few more trick items.

If urs hadn't blown up yet, drive it harder

Oh, GM is putting Recaros in the Z/28 as well.

There is another trick item they could put in the C7 Z06.

BTW, is it officially the Z07? Doesn't the name Z06 have a history behind it?
