For what it's worth, I've had very good support by Porsche with their full knowledge of the time I've spent with various 911's on track, it's a matter of verifying what's their bailiwick and what's my wear and tear, or misadventure.
At least the promise by the Chebby dealer is that I can come in with valve gear in a box and they'll warranty it if it's an engine failure and not a money-shift, etc. Hopefully I'll never know.

Is warranty void on track??

The race car looks awesome. I bet it runs awesome too. Wait till either the Z07 comes out or the C7 is slightly lowered for the street and it will have the correct looks too. I can't wait to see and drive the new Vette.

Lexus LFA or Stay Puft Marshmellow Man. Either way, I like the new front race fascia more than the civilian street fascia.

Dull video blogs aside, I have to respect the car: it's a sports car, it's not just a lumpy ground thumper any more. And GM's spokesperson clearly knows where to hit Porsche on their mistakes with the 991.
Someone needs to make one of those "Hitler" movies to the theme of "Herr Fuhrer, there is news from the war front ... our spies tell us the Americans have advanced on all fronts ... they have us surrounded and we are taking heavy casualties ... their conventional weapons are defeating our best technology ... they have a dry sump race engine ... it's lighter and more powerful than ever before, with torque we simply cannot match, even in our turbo ... they have head-up display and factory data acquisition ... something our troops have been begging for ... and the cabin is no longer designed by retired philatelists with white pants belted up over the bellies ... they're using carbon fibre body panels and a fully aluminium chassis ... they have a rear weight bias and I'm afraid I have bad news ... you see ... about your decision to go with PDK only and the trouble that has caused with our credibility and respect for our loyal allies ... they have ... a manual transmission." And then the usual thing when he blows his stack and can barely take off his glasses ... : )

The engineer's comments on the feel from the steering wheel to the contact patch were EXACTLY what I needed to hear. Bias assumed but the fact that they paid attention to alleviating the disconnected, over assisted, numb feel of the C6 steering in this new C7 is VERY GOOD NEWS. I'm looking forward to a test drive to feel their solution.
And while we've got the chance here, take a look at those damn leaf springs. So many Corvette fans don't know about those things.
I wonder how much of the numb, uncommunicative feeling is because of the material of those leaf springs? They support the weight of the car but because of the construction material not being metal they are, in effect, kinesthetic insulators analogous to insulators on a power line. How much more sensory information from the springs could be added to the feel of this car is they just used coil springs?
They are so close.
A big bit of disco on the 12 sub MODES and dash electronics, though. Looks like the Hollywood user interface on the inside of Iron Man's fantasy helmet... do they imagine 15 year olds buy this car?

If you want a fancy interior, get an Audi or Rolls.
