Found a video discussing cheap V12 cars, and most of the cars just reminded me of the 928's depreciation, maintenance costs, etc, the cars they discuss are very 928 esque (not design, but you know what i mean).
Just watch it. Hahaha.

I'll save you all a view...
Summary
Cars Discussed:
Aston Martin v12's
BMW v12's
Mercedes V12's
VW Phaeton
Lotus Elise
Citroen
Fiskar Karma
Their definition of a "beater" is anything under $40,000
Conclusions at the end are:
1) 4 cylinders are better than 12
2) everyone should own a v12 once in their life
3) VW Phaeton is the best value v12 in today's market.

Lol, i guess i can see why this was moved. It's just i felt it appropriate to put in the 928 forum because the cars discussed all have the similar 928 virtues: -massively expensive when new -innovation -massive depreciation -massive labor expense to do something that is otherwise a standard small job on daily driver makes (Honda, Toyota, etc)
I was truly surprised/shocked that the newer Aston V12 wasn't actually a clean slate V12 design, two run of the mill V6's put together. However, they also say that the 944 motor was "half of a 928 V8" which is not completely true in any sense. I suspect the run of the mill Duratec V6's have nothing in common with a V12 design and a V12's features/requirements.

I made it through 12 minutes before shutting it off. Aside from the number of cylinders, these guys don't know a sh#$ about most of the cars they discussed...
I like the Esprit / Elise comparison the guy on the left did a few years ago:
