Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon

I really like the idea of the CTS-V wagon, but it looks about 1500 lbs overweight just from the pictures alone. Any thoughts on that?

My one complaint is it needs a bigger gas tank, I don't mind the horrific gas mileage just the fact that I was putting gas in it all the time.

my 951 has >20 gal iirc
I need to drive a CTS-V sedan, my only hesitation is I'm spoiled by the quattro awd

I went to a Cadillac sponsored and watered down trackday. I drove the standard CTS Coupe in acceleration and braking test the V sedan in the same but with a bit more room and a slalom in the middle then a V Coupe around the track. The V is a fantastic car. I'm a big fan!
If a buyer is expecting an American BMW or Lexus it's not. But the V is a bargain bruiser that handles really superbly.

I really respect that they're now the ONLY uber-sport-wagon seller in the U.S. Audi S4/RS6 avant is out, Mercedes E63 is out, and BWM M5 is out. And the Caddy actually looks nice too.
But I'd still never buy one. Bought a GM once and swore never ever again.

can't get that in a MB
Quality has improved http://www.jdpower.com/autos/ratings...cending/page-/
dependability http://www.jdpower.com/autos/ratings...cending/page-/
performance & design http://www.jdpower.com/autos/ratings...cending/page-/
comparable to Audi/BMW/MB, exceeds them in some catagories

I am just happy to see american cars back in discussions like this. Nice to see them building better cars then they were 5 years ago.

I think I was getting a good solid 9 or 10 mpg in the -V
Also sampled the -V with winter tires and in snow, It did OK, No Cayenne but I was not worried at any time.
951 has a 22 Gal tank, always loved that.

how do you get these opportunities?
not only do you get to thrash a CTS-V, but you get to drive it in snow!

It would be a great solution for our family, but my other problem with these big HP family cars is that they're mostly useless in the winter. I could talk my SO into driving a 550 HP Cadillac wagon with a 6-speed manual and she'd absolutely love it, right up until it snowed. Something tells me that a 550 HP RWD car is going to be quite the handful even on winter tires.
