OT: for those of you needing to scratch an itch. M3CS
So I just came back into the M3 fold. Had every M3 from the E30 to the e92. Had M5s and x5ms. Went to Porsche's so I missed this f80 gen.
I was looking for a daily to complement my Range (which I love too) and I had picked a GT3 touring for the last year. It ended up being too stiff, I'm past the point of driving a manual, and it was too similar to the RS.
Picked up a CS last week and love every second of it so far. It's the perfect in between for me and offers a different drive than the other stuff in my garage.
Love the suspension, the steering is much better than expected, the engine is still great and the exhaust note is amazing. Not sure if they still pipe artificial sound into the car. This car is much tighter and more sorted out than the competition pack.
The lack of an armrest is tolerable you just need somewhere to put crap which it does lack. The missing comfort access stuff is a pain but you get used to it.
Coming from PDK the DCT is still lacking I think. It's slower to respond and the shifts don't feel as smooth or natural as a PDK.
Otherwise as a daily this is exactly what I was looking for and it may be a keeper. I leased it but I'm deciding whether to wrap it if I keep it after the lease. I don't like the all digital interfaces that are on all new cars, i love the analog dials. I may be keeping all my cars in my garage now that they are the last gen of analog dials
So highly recommended especially at current CS prices. Most are going for $20k off and monthly lease payments are in the $800-900 range.

I bought new, in Dec, a Mineral Gray 2018 M3 with the Competition Package. It is a fantastic 4 door DD. I put on Black HREs, more CF pieces including rear diffuser and larger tail pipes.
Its stance is muscular, stunning and just a great compliment to my .2.
Yes- I have the M3 bug and I could see Myself swapping every 3 years or so.

M4 GTS prices have dropped like an anchor, most lower then the CS. I was thinking about picking one up just for a turbo, water injection experience maybe not worth it but I think it would still be better on the street than my RS. If the M3 has the 4 wheel M drive I would think the CS would be ridic

Nice add to your garage !
I still love my M4. Its no where near stock these days, but its so different from my GT4 that I feel they compliment each other.
Just don't active full DSC off for street driving and you'll be fine.

love the look and ethos of the CS. Jason Cammisa was really rough on it :/

Just got rid of mine after 2 years for Carrera T stick. There is no better 4 door. For super cheap you can tune to 530-540hp (JB4 or BM3) if you want. Also the DCT will be much better with Euro DCT, Euro MDM, and other goodies from Alpine Alex. Sweet car.

Beautiful car and underrated as an all-purpose sports car. I can't get past the sound though.
@911-140.6 ---- what model M4 is that? or was the wing a personal mod?

I had two different F80s over the years, and while I think they are phenomenal cars, that can do it all, I'm actually enjoying my modded RS3 more *on the street* than I did either of my M3s. The sound, power, and "sleeper" status of this Audi really entertains me tremendously. It has no business on the track, but for a street car it's just an insane amount of fun
So far the car as gone a 10.72 @ 130 with a bigger FMIC, catless downpipe, and a 4" turbo inlet pipe plus the flash on E85.

glad you like it. I had a non CS M3, and I actually hated it. I went the full 9 yards with my spec thinking I was going to keep it forever (individual paint and interior, bunch of tasteful aftermarket mods, etc.). I ended up just not loving it. as a second car, I'm sure I would have had a different impression. I also hated the manual and think the DCT is a way better fit with the turbo motor.

Not trying to sound like a Debbie Downer, but I honestly wouldn't even think about getting an M3 until the next gen comes out and proves to me that BMW M is more on the Motorsport side rather than the Marketing side; until then, I'll take the Shelby GT350 with a good ol' fashioned NA motor and manual transmission. I'll invest the rest of the money I save.

One of my buddies picked this car up and he is a die hard non turbo guy that will not touch anything other than a E46 or a 997 GT3 or the like. He bought this car and still raves about the way it drives. He has had a M4 comp pack and hated it but swears this m3 CS has just enough to turn the a f8x gen M3/4 from boring and dull to exciting and engaging.

He he added that aftermarket wing as a personal mod.
But it I have an M3CS in SMB. I agree with some comments from that Instagram post. Comfort access, no center console, and other comfort features only reduced a measly 70 pounds that you won’t notice. Instead BMW should have focused on adding more than just 10HP and the handling, as opposed to removing convenience features and adding some GTS parts to it for a 35k or so difference in MSRP from the standard M3.
There’s a reason why they had to discount it over 20% and add crazy lease incentives to move the cars off the lots.
For the current lease deals though they are a bargain! My complaints would only apply if the car was selling st MSRP.
