Raptor for a new daily

For the bed covering, Traxxus makes a metal sliding cover that I've seen on a bunch of Raptors. It's not water tight, but keeps it pretty dry. It just slides open and disappears like a rolling garage door.

Here's mine. I love it. Super capable off-road and the best daily driver I have owned. As others have said, skip the sunroof, skip the stickers, get the 802. The carbon bits on interior are nice-ish, but really look like crap compare to other company's (Porsche), so it's not worth the expense. Decide now whether you want to go aftermarket wheels or not. Don't be a bonehead like me and spec bead locks only to remove them 500 miles in.

Wow. Thank you for all the detailed responses guys! Seems like this truck is best to buy new as they don’t depreciate much.
now that I’ll go brand new should I just wait until the fall and order the 2020 7.3L Raptor?

Dunno, I think it comes out in 1.5 years. I'm very tempted myself.

Just to be a contrarian I almost bought a Raptor but ended up with a 19 GMC AT4 with the 6.2 and the performance package. I don’t heavily off road which is where the Raptor kills it. But on forest roads etc. AT4 is fine. Also tows a lot more which means double duty towing the 911.

Genuine off roader communities seem to be centered around Toyota trucks / SUV and Jeep wranglers. These cars lack the wow factor to be adopted by the accessory crowd.

The 7.3L rumor is just that. No confirmation this is going to happen. But be assured, if it does, those trucks will drive crazy ADMs. Ford is all-in on the EcoBoost and moving back to a V8 in the Raptor sends a message I don't think they will send. If they do it though.... That would be the one to have.

I've been shopping Raptors since middle of last year. Started looking at 18s and then decided to wait on the 19s. Now those are starting to be discounted. A lot of inventory available.

Any of you have small children? I have a 2 and 4 year old and wondering how hard it is to load/unload them. I have a 19 Sierra with auto deploying running boards that make it pretty easy to load/unload them into car seats.
