OT: Anyone here have a Raptor?

I love my Gen2 Raptor. I tow ~6000lbs with it regularly and have modified suspension a bit for heavier loads. (I also have a camper shell on it). If you're really worried about too much sag when towing bumpstop kits with either a.) longer bumpstops b.) normal bumpstops + extensions pads will stop the sag. They only take a few mins to put in, but you will sacrifice some softness with pad extensions in place. (Doesn't really bother me, to be honest, and I only tow a few times a month)
Negatives: towing MPG isn't great with my Trailex. YMMV 70MPG = ~11-12mpg. Sometimes spots are too narrow in places like shopping centers. I prefer it over the normal F150 even in DD only mode, but I agree you are spending a lot of extra $ if you don't plan on going offroad.
In fact... 'cause your local I'll totally let you test out your trailer w/ my truck if you want to bring 'em down to Mountain View sometime.

If you want the cool factor and ultimate off-road, nothing beats the Raptor. If you want to tow heavy stuff, go with Cummins, Duramax or Ford F250/350 diesel. I personally drive the Ram 1500 Ecodiesel 4x4 as one of my dailies. Tows up to 10K lbs, averages 25mpg, 30mpg on the hwy. Got some King shocks underneath, so not to bad off road either.
Edit: forgot to mention, way cheaper than the Raptor or any of the Heavy Duty diesel trucks.

Funny thing about RAM trucks... I bought a new '15 RAM 1500 Sport 4x4 in Ceramic Blue w/ the 5.7 Hemi before and I liked it but the Raptor is so much better in & out. I daily drove my RAM for 2 years. MSRP was literally almost 50K and got a big discount (like almost 20% off) but as expected trade in was dismal.... well hey that's RAM trucks for you.... they depreciate much much more. It also burned oil.... like a quart every 5k miles. I wasn't a fan of that. Anyway the Raptor holds value better and it's so fun to drive on the streets.... comparison in power (i.e. my ex-Hemi RAM vs. the Turbo6 Raptor) is no contest... the Raptor will smoke it 24/7.
Like I said, I do like RAM 1500 trucks but IMO it's a no brainer the F150 Raptor is way better... well at least for my intended use.

I have an 18. Absolutely fantastic truck. I bought it just to have it around as my truck, but liked it so much it became my DD and I sold the M3 I had for those duties. With a little suspension work, it can tow just like a regular F150 3.5 which is 10K+ lbs.
Engine makes great power stock. Literally runs circles around the old 6.2. Mine is now flashed and gained 75 whp and 80 wtq over stock. The way this thing accelerates to 90-100 is hysterical for something so huge.

That ceramic blue Ram looks great . My next truck will hopefully be brand new V8 Raptor(if ford ever makes it). Even my wife finds herself driving the truck almost everyday

I've run mine off road, it's similar to the GT car off-road...eye-opening capabilities in it's proper setting. Free Ford Raptor School to the original buyer as well, better than any of the BMW/Porsche/Caddy one day events I've attended, by a long shot. They encourage you to run the trucks hard, steep and fast, I was shocked at how much they let you push them, a bit scary actually. Running in a pack of Raptors thru the desert together is crazy fun. If you into vehicles that make you feel something and put a smile on your face when you drive it each time, this is one of them, if you just need a truck or tow vehicle there are better and cheaper to be had.

I currently have 115K miles on my 2013 SCREW and am awaiting a 2018 Gen 2. It is my understanding that the EcoBoost will remain however Ford is going to address the brakes and do some aesthetic tweaks (I was holding out looking for a V8 but a friend's cleaning lady said pull the trigger, price is the guaranteed change) . My Gen 1 occasionally tows our heavy Mastercraft X23. Sure an F-250 Diesel tows it better, but for the few times a year it comes out of the water it handles it just fine. The truck has been a reliable DD that can do just about anything. It soaks up all of the bumps in the concrete jungle and really performs off the pavement. I agree it is a big check to write for a truck, but it has a fun factor about it with unlimited versatility. You won't be disappointed. Cheaper than daily driving an AMG!
