OT: Anyone here have a Raptor?

Test drove a 2018 Raptor before going for the much cheaper Ram 1500 with 5.7L Hemi back in December. The Raptor has the cool factor and aggressive look going for it but thats where it ends. I like the 5.7L engine better and I just couldn't justify 75k on my first pick up truck ever. If Ford does offer a v8 engine I will def spend the money as I now know this things can be daily driven.

I enjoy mine; use it for DD, family trips and to pull my RS to track days with a Trailex. Could I have gotten a Dodge Ram for the half the price? off course. But I'm truly digging this Raptor! very glad I got one. Tons of tech in this thing, still cant figure out half of it.

Chevy is coming out with an inline 6 3L from Duramax for Silverados and GMC 1500s in late 2019. I am excited to hear more about that one.

I dont see how that 7.0L rumor becomes a reality with emissions etc - I tried to figure out when they will announce, but no luck
The question is really is this better/same worse than the cayenne for
1. towing my open trailer and racecar + hauling tires and tools (that part is a pain in cayenne)
2. driving 200 miles to tahoe
3. parking at grocery store and costco
4. driving with my dog to go hiking
5. the old home depot run
I wouldnt swap the cayenne out for a regular f150 - just too different in the cool factor

My Raptor tows great. Tow a Boss 302 TA2 Trans Am car and an enclosed Trail Ex. No issues whatsoever.
The new truck supposedly tows great and is a beast. You will pay more for a Raptor but no other truck garners "thumbs up" like a Raptor and gets you back a large % of your purchase on resale looking bad a$$ in the process.
My Raptor is my DD too.

Previous gen's are great trucks, still sought after for their V8s. I drive mine Gen 2 so much I sold my Range Rover.

I got one last year and love it. But, I am just starting to race and am looking at more serious towing capacity, and if so will trade it on a F250 which is a monster, has same tech, etc. If I where going to off road, I would keep the Raptor, but for towing a trailer the 250 may be the way to go.

If one is looking to "pose" the Raptor is a great choice. If one is looking to actually do some towing Fords Diesel or the Cummings engine adopted by a few manufacturers is the way to go. I wouldn't get hung up on super charges or big block V8's. Those Diesel engines have a huge amount of torque. With that said I own a Nissan pick up and looking at the updated 2019 Ram Rebel.

Test drove one and really enjoyed it. Till it came time to stop. The brakes genuinely suck... there was one comment above about it, any others feel the same? My experience was admittedly only (an enthusiastic) test drive. Perhaps more aggressive pads would help. Otherwise loved it and I'm no truck guy.

Get the Rappi you won’t be disappointed. Had a Gen 1 and currently a Gen 2. Soft suspension is great for the 95% of time you are just crusing, cool after market dual shock kit if you really need to keep it level w/ a trailer. Surround view makes parking manageable, every large vehicle should have it. It will hold its value, the Gen 1’s did very well and still do, they don’t build enough for demand (this is right forum for that discussion). Turbo 6 has gobs of power and the tech in the truck is top notch. Only downside is a clunky 10spd trans. Even sounds pretty good, better than my old F80 M3, I know not saying much.
PS. If you have never had a desert toy w/ long travel you may feel like its too soft, but it just leans over and takes a set. Tires are super wide and actually corner when you want to......

Anyone have some contacts for msrp buys on west coast?
Highly annoying day today trying to buy
There are 2000 new ones for sale right now - don't understand why dealers really think they will get over msrp

I laughed when sales person said I would need to pay 5k adm on a glorified f150. Again, I would only buy if ford makes a v8 version.
