there is another one coming....friend of mine got to see this yesterday and was briefed on what his LE car will entail....but this is someone buying cars that are 2MM plus, so he is in very good graces across all manufactures.
I too agree with you, not sure this will hold its value....too many new turbo cars being pumped out, nothing unique unless they all go kers or hybrid from here. Although the factory did say, anything introduced from 2019 would be hybrid......

Agree kers hybrid - turbo life is most likely short lived with Ferrari which could be brutal.

Looks are subjective..but having owned a speciale...this car is better looking to my eyes. The 488 gtb has no perceptible lag....and the only deficiency compared to speciale was sound. If they really improved the sound as much as they say they did with this car....(and this was a big point of emphasis in the presentation); then they really hit it our of the park with this car.
Having said all of this....I believe there is a saturation of the market with all of these uber cars....gt2RS, 720S, the Pista...etc etc. There is a very small group of people who can keep adding to a "collection' and most people get out of one car to get into another. This of course is good news for everyone.

Have never seen a 458 Speciale on the track. Doubt I will ever see one of these either. Same applies to GT2RS. Nice cars but they sit in garages getting rubbed with diapers and occasionally make the trip for a cars & coffee. Not sure I really see the point but to each their own.

I drove a 488 and found the sound to be very tame compared to 458's and f430's. I was not impressed with how the standard 488 sounds. The Pista sounds a little bit more aggressive.

Sound is so subjective and open to personal preferences, much like color. I personally don't like the 488 sound. Not just for what is "missing," but also for what is there, with the high pitched whirring at revs, like an asthmatic chicken. Compared to the noise made by a high revving NA 458 at 9000 rpm, I just think there's no comparison. But again, standard disclaimers apply, as that's just my taste. And for me, the ultimate in sound is the F12, which is very similar to the LaF. Superlative 12 cylinder music indeed.
