OT: New Aston Martin Vantage

I'm trying to like it, but right now I could be convinced I'm looking at some sort of all-electric next generation Lotus Evora.
Aston usually has such distinctive styling, consistent with its brand. I'm not sure what I'm looking at.

I bought a Vantage brand new in 2007. Was beautiful inside and out, however mechanically it has significant problems as well as with some of the electronics.
Belts were replaced a few times, had an oil leak from engine, needed amplifiers replaced, fuel gauge didn't always work. Their customer service is horrific. They couldn't get it right for me. Aston Martin doesn't produce enough cars to even have a proper test fleet. I have even been at a private track event for Aston seeing them break down. Until they have AMG engines, transmissions, and electronics they will never be able to produce a quality automobile that can perform as well as they look. BEWARE!

buying early in the model cycle usually lends to a cars experience not being great until they iron out all the issues. My car so far has had nothing major to report problems wise. Knock on wood. Mine is a 2015 FYI
Also to take into consideration it is being hand assembled. The process Sounds better than it is in my opinion

I like it. Looks like the DB10 from Spectre. Somewhat underpowered compared to competition and crappy automatic transmission. Why no double clutch? At least they have manual.
I have a feeling the inevitable V12 iteration will be the cat's meow.

I was at the launch last night, and the car is lower and more aggressive looking in the flesh. Also supposed to be much more of a hard edged sportscar than before, and differentiated from the GT cars.
The front grille looks good, and is made to appear smaller, with a Uk-Spec front number plate. This is in contrast to most cars which are designed without thought for the plate. Obviously benefits won't apply in all countries.
i liked it, and nice to have another alternative at 911/AMG level. Will have a test drive early next year.

i find this to be one of the most beautiful cars available today.
however.. i have driven the previous model of the v12 vantage at Road Atlanta two years ago.. and it was such a pig wallowing on its suspension, and the transmission was so terribly slow and unresponsive, and brakes were so utterly useless after barely a lap, that it turned me off to the brand completely.
could they have fixed things? I truly want to see a reviewer say "I want this over a 911 anyday".. nothing short of that would be convincing.
