Default Targa top stowage

Now that I've driven the new SC for a few months, folding the top has become a challenge for me. It just causes premature aging, wrinkles and stress. After some careful measuring I discovered that the top can be stowed in the trunk unfolded if the brake fluid reservoir is moved about 2" outboard and the air plenum guard removed and eventually modified. Moving the tank was the project. As you can see from the attache pics, it all worked after a few hours of plumbing and metal rework. Why didn't the factory figure this out when they added the brake booster in 1975?

It looks like an interesting mod. You should post it in the model-specific forum since other owners might be interested.

The New England forum is usually better for regional questions, events, etc.
