Article says Piech and Porsche families unhappy with proposed Ducati sale, "things not moving fast enough", or his past comments suggesting Europe should get out of diesel subsidy.
Doesn't seem to be any smoking reason this is happening. He's the guy who said "We didn't lie", after the diesel crisis. I'm not surprised that didn't get him in trouble, so what cut him short?
My guess: "things not moving". September 2015 is now a long time ago, and the auto-group's reaction was too little, too late. At the time, the Q7 PHEV and R8 E-tron were hyped, then never happened. More recent, has been the 20 billion euro battery scramble that had them prospecting for cobalt.
Diess (formerly of BMW) is to take over. I don't know how many CEOs one has to go back, before finding someone with so little time at either VW, or Porsche?
