    Dear Spencer: I will be installing my 3piece OPRV in my '86 sideplate adapter pretty soon. Is it necessary to use the alignment tool on this or is that just primarily for the cars using the oil/water cooler unit. I am asking this because you have apparently done this already and have better knowledge than I do. Thanks, Rich Nunn

    Dear Spencer: I was reading today about your install of the Volvo fan on your car..especially since my fans run, when tested, but the bearing are shot...BTW, how did your supercharger addition ever turn out? Is there a link to your anguish on this?

    Dear Spencer: I received my oil cooler from S2 Steve this last weekend along with the new seals from Voith..My friend Greg (Drive 135) has an 87 DME that I think I want depending on price..on one of your forums you were talking about the AFM from a later car(than my '83) and you wondered if a MAF would work..what parameters should I look for if I decide to go that route instead of a late model AFM? Going that way so I can use a Rogue tuning rebuild/chip in my car...Thanks, Rich Nunn

    Dear Spencer: I recently and finally got a side plate for my oil/water project delete, along with hoses and a mangled oil cooler..It is the one with the metal piping I've been corresponding with S2Steve about another oil cooler off of an S2, which looks like what I really wanted on the car in the first place. Anyway, the new ? side plate came with an oprv in place..I have read that the early cars used a 3 piece? oprv vs a 1 piece..some discussion recently on using the 1 piece unit...and I think I'd rather go that route if possible..what mods do I need to do to use this later model oprv? the side plate came off of an 86 944 T...I still have to fabricate new lines for the cooler..should I go Aeroquip or just use straight TOC (trans oil cooler) line at my local parts store, and use new fittings on both ends of the line? BTW,,who do you recommend for the fuel lines at the back of the car near the fuel pump? mine are pretty shot...thanks, Rich Nunn, Tiger 03447

    I am a FNG on this forum. I just purchased a 1987 944 with a Renegade LT1 swap. My car is the same color as yours! I would like to be on you friends list. I'll post an Avatar in a day or so. I may use the "V2" on my license tag as well (Thank you, I live in Virginia).

    It's not on my car but a customers. You just swing the tensioner arm by hand with the balance shaft sprocket tool until the belt is tight and lock it in place with the tensioner bolt and locknut like normal. A lock washer is good insurance too.

    Hello, I was hoping to get some details on your tensioner setup. From a post I saw of yours, I noticed you operate your 944 without a spring for the spring tensioner. Mine also has no spring due to previous owner, so I was hoping to ask how to keep the tension set and prevent slippage of the arm. Are there any special measures to take?

    I saw your post from 2011 reading PM me your email address, I have something for you to take to the body shop. A diagram of all the measurement points on the car to check for skew in the unibody
