Hi Jim, sorry it took so long to respond, I don't always check my PM's.

I have the HD-9 ST WIDE. Yes, I use a small compressor, really love the lift. Call Bend Pak they are great in helping you design a lift for your garage. Locking mechanism is secure when lift is lowered into any of the selected positions, weight of car will not allow locks to become disengaged.

This is Jim Phillips from Tucson. I have a question about your Bendpak HD9. I have a two car garage and need an additional parking space inside. I also want to gain access underneath for servicing the vehicles. In looking at the Bendpack specs it shows that the HD9 has 80.5' of drive thru clearance. However in your photos it looks like you have ample clearance. Which model Bendpak do you have? I would like to go with the Narrow HD-9ST but on paper it looks like a tight fit. This will be used with my '95 and '99 C2 coupes.

One final question, does this life require an air compressor to operate the locking mechanism? Once locked is it safe without the compress turned on?
