    HI Marc,

I saw your message about the possibility to remove only the glass top while replacing the glass top cables, do you have in insight or tips? how many screws hold in place, is it possible to remove by tilting it a bit to allow the entire glass frame go out from the top ?
couple of years ago i fixed the sunshade part, and it has been working flawlessly since then, but now the glass top cables are so corroded it must be replaced.
    any help would be appreciated.
    thank you , Ron

    Hi Marc-
I'm new to Rennlist and quickly gleaned that you're the 993 Targa expert. I have a '97 with a sensitive top. Do you work on them? Or could you recommend someone who does? I'm in the LA/OC area. Thanks!

    Marc,

I've been referred to you as the expert in Targa roof systems. I just recently bought a 1996 Targa and the driver side upper guide for the shade is broken (according to the dealer). The dealer quoted me 2k in parts and 40 hours in labor to rebuild the roof, total would be about 9k. Seems quite outrageous. So, my question to you: is it possible to replace the guide without removing the roof? Seems like there are repair kits available.

HI Mark, I had some hot glue gun that I used to when doing some crown moulding at my house. I just used that stuff.
Here is the system that i have. Im sure there was a better way, but I had it and It seems to have worked OK
