Hello, my name is David and I am making an informative video on the GT4 Getrag transmission recall.
I was wondering if you might have any related photos that I could use. I would attribute them to the description of the video as well.

    Hello Gofishracing,

I read your posting about your Porsche GT4 transmission failure on 3rd gear by shifting from 2nd to 3rd.

I have Porsche GT4 as well and I took delivery in April of 2016 and I had the exact same issue. It happened to me in July, replaced transmission and In September in happened again the exact same way.

Did Porsche cover your transmission replacement under the warranty ?

Did you had this issue again ?

I'm really curious to learn about those things as I think something is wrong with those transmissions.

I would really appreciate your input on this.

    Cheers,

    Mike

The 944 is registered for the street because it is considered an antique here in CT. I don't generally insure it wjhen at the track. I'd be curious about that type of insurance as I will probably bring the 944 to the track 1-2 a year just for laughs.

My Cayman is covered under a one year policy which covers all track events including races. Expensive but worth it - about $10k for $75k of insured value.

I had my splitter staying on for the first time after using the clips and roofers caulking. Then as I am racing Barron Jacobs he crashes right in front of me at Lime Rock 2 weeks ago and almost lands on top of my car . Thankfully I am able to some how squeeze by. However I did take some debris to the nose and loose the splitter and some nose damage. (I am very thankful could have been a lot worse)

Its funny I haven't completed a day that the splitter hasent come off the car. Not sure it really works its so small anyway

    Hi Mr.Fisher!
I think that you have been the owner of my car a few years ago
I live in Norway and bought my 1979 930 this summer from a guy that took it to Norway from New Jersey. (Still has your name above the drivers door, and GoFish stickers)
I hope it is ok for you that I contact you like this..?
The reason is that I would like to know a little about the work that has been done on the engine..
I have been doing some work on the brakes, rear wheel bearing, changing bushings and so on, but after sorting out some of these things I have gotten a noise from the engine. Sounds to me like a knock almost like the rod bearings being worn out.. So i now need to find out what to do. Swap the engine, rebuild it or what...

Hope you can give me a little info on the specs of the engine.

    Best regards, Fredrik Lovli

Ha Ha, true that! I have often contemplated the good and bad of instructorship! I think I ought to at least return the favor to NNJR for all they have tought me.

Yea, turbo's aren't exactly cheap to keep on the road/track. But they do provide a serious adrenaline rush. Blackie's PO (Jimmy the Felon) didn't say no to very many things presented to him, other than a $$$$ titanium tranny cooler. Plus he kept the car in outstanding condition, as you saw. It only has 30,XXX miles on the clock. Now Jimmy tells me that somewhere close to 20,XXX were at Willow Springs, but I've also seen his maintenance records and he didn't skimp there either.
