Description:
1988 Carrera Coupe belonging to racing legend George Follmer (his personal car from 1997-2016) and I bought it in 2016 (I've included a picture of the original PCA ad). I drove the car 1600+ miles from Boise to Austin and it cruised flawlessly.
Original paint, numbers matching, COA, accident/rust free. Engine case halves have never been split open: No smoke, no leaks. Only routine maintenance performed.
Under my ownership, I have invested a total of $30K to lovingly care for the car - including a new OEM clutch (including fork, cross shaft, slave cylinder, bearings, flywheel inspection & hand resurfacing, crank sensors, steam clean transmission, etc.) in February 2026 ($8700). No additional engine/gearbox repairs made when engine was out of the car, as none were needed.
I've had a Porsche dealer install the Porsche Classic radio and updated vintage Carrera A/C compressor. I had Harvey Weidman restore the original Fuchs wheels in 2024 and installed new Pirelli Porsche spec tires (about 2K miles ago). I've installed new OEM speakers in the doors and rear. Other items include all new OEM brakes (pads, rotors, sensors, bolts, rear calipers) and thousands spent on the A/C (lines, O-rings, etc.)
Full documentation/receipts for all repairs/maintenance under my ownership. I'm a 30-year PCA member and former collector of rare air-cooled 911's. An original, unmolested car with famous Porsche race driver ownership.
The car will be made available for PPIs (at buyer expense) for serious buyers.
