Sharkwerks 991 Turbo Exhaust - X Pipe / Muffler Delete
For SaleEngine - Exhaust
Description:
Selling my Sharkwerks X-Pipe / Muffler Delete for the 991 Turbo (S) platform. I bought it used from another rennlister and put another 5-8k miles on it. Recently went with a full Stage 3 kit from Sam so no longer needed.
This exhaust is great if:
- You want more volume. This unit essentially replaces the center muffler with tubing, so the gasses go straight from the cats to the atmosphere with minimal resistance. I was worried when I bought this that the sound would be too much, but it's very reasonable. It's very minimally louder than stock at idle and around town but pretty significantly louder when driving aggressively. You hear road noise more than the exhaust around town and on the highway.
- You want more "growl" out of your exhaust. A unique feature about this cross pipe is that it separates exhaust flows. Most exhausts, including the stock unit, combine exhaust flows at some point which has the effect of evening out sound pulses. With this exhaust, gasses from each cylinder bank leave the car without ever being combined with gasses from the other bank. The result is a more growly tone compared to other exhausts.
- You need or want to use stock cats. This exhaust plugs right up to the stock cats so emissions are unaffected. Some choose to pair this with sport cats or a cat delete, but those setups are pretty loud.
- You want a cost effective sound enhancement. Retail, this exhaust is one of the more cost effective exhausts out there for the 991 Turbo, and obviously I'm selling for a significant discount from retail. I found the stock exhaust way too quiet and this was a great way to get more sound and fun out of the car. Obviously I didn't stop with just exhaust, but if your goal is to make some more noise and have some more fun, this is a great option.
I don't have videos of this exhaust installed, but the best representative clips of how this exhaust sounds are the following:
-
(I think their install had an exhaust leak so the extra whistle at WoT is generally not present, but the rest of the sound is pretty much spot on).

(this clip also has clips of what this exhaust sounds like with sport cats)
