This one of only 207 968’s brought into the US with this color combination during the four-year lifespan of this model and has a January 1993 build date. Lightly modified, the 3-liter inline 4 produces around 255 hp, and was the largest 4-cylinder ever produced at the time.
Never been in an accident, paint is in excellent condition with very few blemishes (see pictures).
Approx. 117,000 miles, meticulously cared for by the same owner for 17 years. Complete documentation of all services, including motor mount replacement, brake cylinder, steering rack & shaft, front/rear shocks (Koni adjustable), clutch, timing belt (at 55,000, 89,000, and 110,000 miles), and others in addition to regular oil changes. In addition, the rear hatch glass has been removed, and re-glued. Recent oil change and belt replacement. Rocker panel gaskets recently replaced. Carfax available.
Modifications include: airbox mod for additional airflow, stainless steel cat-back exhaust (RS Barn – sounds great!), Engine management chip (RS Barn), stainless steel brake lines (RS Barn), 996 shift ****, Continental radio unit to replace inoperative OEM unit, red plug wires, OEM Euro-style front markers (bumperette delete), aftermarket remote opener, rear wiper delete, medium window tinting. Front brake calipers have been red powder-coated during major service. The car has also been upgraded to 17” 968-specific Cup II wheels.
Of note: Dashboard shows some vinyl finish cracking in front of instrument cluster. One wheel with light scratch and out-of-date tires. Cruise control inoperative. Timing belt due for replacement from age.
Sale includes clear title, owner’s manuals, all service records, indoor and outdoor covers, Porsche-branded mask, old OEM head unit. Excellent condition 16” Cup I’s are available as well.
This is NOT a project car! It is in nearly perfect condition with very detailed maintenance records since my purchase in 2005. I am looking for a new owner that will be as passionate about it as I have been!
