Description:

For sale is a 1995 Porsche 968, one of approximately 259 coupes produced for the North American market in the model’s final year of production. Grand Prix White over Midnight Blue partial leather upholstery. Asking $25,000.

I purchased this car in August of 2023 from Bring a Trailer with deferred maintenance (timing belt, water pump) needing to be performed. Ultimately, an external coolant leak was found from the head gasket and an extensive engine out service was performed.

From that extensive overhaul these are the highlights:
-timing belt/water pump
-engine seals
-head gasket
-cylinder head service
-heater core replaced
-power steering system
-engine mounts
-rotors and pads
-Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tires
-Blaupunkt Frankfurt stereo (period correct look with USB, Bluetooth)

I had planned that this would be a forever car and put $21,610.05 into parts and labor to bring the car up to my standard. Unfortunately, life circumstances have changed and I am selling this fantastic 968.

Mechanically, it drives amazingly with precise steering, strong motor, and crisp shifts. Handling is excellent and the car is surprisingly comfortable for a 90’s sports car. The interior is in great shape. There are no cracks in the dash. Some wear to the leather steering wheel, shifter, seats but no tears or holes. Paint is good for the age of the car, presents well, but has imperfections. There is a small pain chip with rust near the driver’s door (see photo). I have all the service records from my ownership as well as much of the service records from the prior owner. The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Florida.

 Known Issues:
- passenger door lock is inoperable with the key (locks/unlocks from drivers side and inside)
- door handle trim gaskets have deteriorated (parts included)
- rocker panel weatherstripping shows shrinkage (parts included)
- headlight surround covers (parts included)
- Deformed R front jack point (has been OK on lift)
- Airbag light illuminates when cold outside
- Knock sensor #1 tripping CEL (this has been noted by repair shop after engine bay wash but has never come up once cleared)
-cracked portions of lower grill

Per prior owner:
It has been in storage for the last 2 years, and was only driven occasionally for the last 10.
Air conditioning serviced in 2021.
Timing belts were done at 51k, 90k and 120k.
Water pump was done during the 51k belts
Clutch was replaced around 113k.
Shocks were replaced at 130k.
Clutch hydraulics (master and slave) at 150k.
Oil changes around every 5k

Left rear fender and rear bumper cover were repainted following an accident
