Default apple play

do you need to open the radio and put a card in, or is it all external plug and play?

Install guide attached. It's pretty straight forward with ribbons but it looks like it does require the radio to be opened up. I bought the wrong version months back and wasn't able to return, planning on buying the correct one to replace it.
