Have you considered trading it to your dealer on the new car? If your in any state other than taxofornia you can deduct the value of the trade in against the price you are paying for the new car. So you would get probably a $250,000 tax value credit against say your new vehicle you paid say $300,000 - only have to pay sales tax on $50,000.

so this would save you $25,000 on sales tax - and you make the dealer really happy that will help you get future hard to get allocations of special editions.

I find that dealers are willing to often pay me more than enough for hard to buy excellent quality cars than I can sell the car privately.
