Looks and drives amazing! The 997.2 Carrera 4S features wider rear bodywork & larger side mirrors compared to the standard Carrera and Carrera S. The 2nd generation 997 (997.2, 2009-2012) is also known for its significant reliability and performance improvements over the first generation 997 including:
- New engine with direct fuel injection (no more IMS bearing issues to worry about).
- The engine is mounted 0.4 inches (10 mm) lower in the tail section (slightly lower center of gravity).
- Revised suspension system
- Revised front bumper with larger air intakes
- Headlamps with LED daytime running lights and newly optional dual HID projectors
- Revised rear bumper with a new LED tail light design; AWD models included a reflective stripe between the tail lights
- Redesigned Porsche Sports Exhaust (PSE)
- Redesigned PCM system with touch-screen and optional hard-drive navigation and Bluetooth.
- Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) transmission (replacing the optional Tiptronic S)
A new factory Porsche PCM Unit was installed at Austin Porsche (less than 10k miles ago).
The following since June 2020 (Porsche Austin): fluids services, replacing the mass airflow sensor, throttle body, battery, fuel pump, and valve cover gaskets.
The following since January 2022 (Porsche Austin): Brake fluid flushed/replaced, Oil/Filter replaced, 4-wheel alignment, recommended maintenance.
The Carfax report lists minor damage to the rear occurring in September 2019 (previous owner). The rear bumper cover and taillights were replaced at that time.

Thanks for everyone’s interest in my 997.2, this one is no longer available and sold today — much to my dismay (and much to my wife’s content). At least it will be under the care of a fellow Porsche enthusiast and will be in good hands.
