Description:

I'm selling my trusty and beloved 997! I bought the car in August 2019 and have since driven 12,000 miles, mostly freeway driving for the bulk of the miles. NO expense was spared during my ownership and maintenance of the car. I'm selling because I simply have too many cars and I need to downsize.

In August of 2020 the car was rear ended. The damage was assessed to be cosmetic only. The rear bumper cover was replaced and repainted by Arroyo Auto Company in North Hollywood, along with a new right tail lamp and some repair to the rear body panel.

The car was regularly maintained at Avus Autosport in Glendale, CA.

Full documentation available of all service history, and carfax available to any interested buyers. Open to PPI at buyer expense.

Highlights:

  • Modifications:
    • Fister Sport mufflers
    • RSS motor mounts
  • Maintenance:
    • 81K replaced water pump, drive belt, thermostat, expansion tank, transmission service (8/2019)
    • 85K new battery (9/2020)

    • 93K A/C recharge, brake flush, replaced windshield washer pump (5/2022)
    • Regular oil changes every 5000 miles with Driven DT40
  • Tires:

@Lurkingaround - I have the Carfax along with some more photos and maintenance documentation available here:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...71?usp=sharing

Feel free to ask any questions!

edit - also, another member sent me a PM with some additional questions about bore scoring and other maintenance, here is my reply which may be informative to others as well:

When I bought the car, I did not have it inspected for bore scoring as I was not really educated on that potential issue at the time. However I can say that it shows no symptoms of the issue. The car was in Southern California for the entirety of its life (recently Arizona), which I believe also lessens the possibility of developing those issues (not in a cold environment).

There are no known issues, the car is super reliable and I would not hesitate to jump in the car and drive across the country if need be. Originally the car was my daily driver for about 6 months, then used primarily for the occasional road trip as it was the most reliable car I owned. I maintained the car as if I was going to own it forever, but overall it has been very much without problems.

A few minor things to note:
- There was briefly an issue where the car would crank slowly before starting when driven in the heat (think 100+ degrees Palm Springs type weather), this can be common with the 997 if you search the forums. We did have the battery cable replaced and I haven't noticed it since.
- When the car was recently serviced, the tech noted that the horn was only sounding the "low tone" and could be replaced. I declined as the estimate was $650 and I think the horn sounds OK as is, but just FYI.
- The drivers side window has a small scratch in the glass (about 1-2cm), can likely be repaired I just don't notice it unless I'm outside the car looking directly at it.
- With the RSS semi solid engine mounts, there is a bit more NVH, it is not excessive in my opinion but there can be the occasional squeak/vibration. I personally don't mind it, the RSS mounts really liven up the handling.

Feel free to ask more questions here or you can give me a call at ***. I was going to get around to posting a cold start and driving video this weekend too if you'd like to see that.
Also, if you would like to have the car inspected with a shop here in Tucson I'm happy to accommodate that. I recently had the car serviced at Group One Motorworks and they were very thorough: https://grouponemotorwerks.com/

Very fair price. Hope you get it sold.

But this part was surprisingly painful to read considering the value. Moe must have loved you. Even as a detail geek, I’d have sprayed some $5 turtlewax sealant on it every 12 months.
