The list of modifications looks like :

Chassis, Suspension :

. B&K Rollbar fixed in reverse position, and bolted on 6 points, with a harness bar (Markus Fry Racing)
. Suppress OEM roof (18kg), not compatible with 6pt rollbar
. Adapted 2011 Spyder black canvas OEM roof (changed OEM side windows against OEM Spider side windows)
. Schroth 6 point Racing Harness on driver seat (good to 2021 !)

. AFe Performance Intake and oil Filter kit
· Low temp thermostat, with metal impeller water pump
. 4” RS solid Underdrive pulley
. Modified racing exhaust headers using high flow 200 Cell cats (exhaust cats = Smog Check OK)
. Modified secondary cats using also 200 Cells Cats (exhaust sound = 91dB sound test compatible, i.e.: at Laguna Seca)

Weight :
. with the mods on seats, wheels, roof, battery, the gain of weight is estimated to be in the range of 170 lbs (80 kg).
On track, removing spare wheel & toolbox : approx. gain of 190 lbs (90 kg)

Performances :
May be, I can say, lap time at Laguna Seca : depending temp of the day, in the mid of the 1.48
(..easy no sweat, ..Grand Fa style ! Best lap till now : 1.47.7)
But, about 1,500 miles driven there.

A good history with a lot of photos of this car can be seen here at :
https://rennlist.com/forums/boxster-...l#post11020813
It is a great road car, (..with the stiff and low suspension current adjustment) offereing a great handling, and being quite efficient (for it original 3.2 displacement) on track.

Let's have a quick, short list (not everything included) of the value of the parts that have been installed :

LN IMS Pro kit installed (ceramic “Double Row Pro” bearing), US 2,500
Suspension upgraded with 4 Billstein PSS9 coil over US$ 2,650
Sparco bucket Seats, driver and passenger, on aluminum side plates US$ 800
Front suspension : GT3 adjustable control arms, (left & right) US$ 1,000
AFe Intake and oil Filter kit, US$ 450
Alcantara white stitching kit: padded steering wheel, shifter & e-brake, US$ 750
4 Premium OZ Alleggerita 18” gray lightweight wheels US$ 750
BK Bar setup., removable & to allow keeping winds stoppers & OEM roll bar paddings. US$ 850
New Low temp thermostat installed (when water pump was changed) US$ 100
Li-Ion extra light battery installed with internal kill switch US$ 600
½ Quart oil extension with “X-51” type oil baffle & magnetic drain plug US$ 700
Brey-Krause Extinguisher quick release mounting kit US$ 250
IPD Plenum with 74mm Throttle Box and IPD intake tube (to filter) US$ 750
4” Underdrive pulley US$ 150
Alcantara 2x Seat cushions (Sid Upholstery) with diamond stitches & "Boxster S" engraving US$ 620
2nd set rims,OZ Alleggerita w/Michelin Pilot Sport (<1k miles) US$1,000
Front Brembo 6 pistons big brake kit upgrade US$ 3,800
Transform 4pts roll bar into 6pts (Markus Fry Enterprise) US$460
Change Master Cylinder (Brake) with TRW PMN166 (GT2 type) US$ 270
OEM 2011 Spyder Roof assembly (carbon) with canvas US$ 3'000
Change driver and passenger side windows to OEM 2011 Spyder windows US$ 500

Value of these parts : US$ 22,000, ..car not included !

With these parts valuation, (that do not include the count ot all parts !) this Boxster S could be seen as a US$ 8,000 car !
..But do not ask me to remove all the parts to sell it at this price !!!

Where it becomes interesting, is to track a Boxster, you do have to do some work and buy some parts if you want to protect yourself and your car.
With this car, these core modifications are done, with the respect that it still can be a great open road car, with a fantastic handling.
..May be with the limitations that the roof is not electric anymore, as it is an original Porsche OEM 2011 Spyder (bought new from the parts dept. of a Porsche dealer) !
And, the Spyder owners do know that it takes some time to install it and/or to remove it !

With the Spyder side windows, it gives a real special and unique look for this car ! (I did owned many 911 as daily during 30 years, but never got the amount of thumbs up that I get with this car !

In the case you would be asking if this car is in good shape, about 50 miles ago, Judges declared :

..Yes, result was 1st, ties, ..with 179 points over 180 !

Just back in California, after 3 months in Europe, or no miles added to this car !
Or, let's "bump the case" : car still available.

Love the car. Is the top speed limited by having the top in place (up), like the 2012 Spyder?

That said, what is the top speed you have achieved on track in this car?

Interesting questions :

Yes, the OEM 2011 Porsche Spyder roof is a "speed limiter". In my case, it all depends how tight are the two "back pulling" pieces !
I would simply say, this roof is a great guard to keep you on legal speeds on freeways.
And, let's be honest, ..it does not like the rain either !
or, do not even think to go through a car wash station with such a “roof” !

(If you are a boater, you would call it a “bimini top” ! )

Now about speed (without the roof), in Laguna Seca, at the end of the straight (I'm not counting "turn 1" that you do not "feel" at this level of speed), just before the braking point of turn 2, I would say that I'm around 115 to 120mph.
It is true that Laguna Seca is NOT a fast track, (..but for me, it is a quite technical track, very challenging that I really love.)

I have been (not with this car !) in what I would call "fast tracks", like Monza, or, even faster Le Castellet (Paul Ricard) were it could be quite fast (I had luck to be at Paul Ricard track days when they removed the chicane (that is normally always on action in the middle of the Mistral Straight for "normal track days and all races, ..including Formula One). I can tell you that without the chicane, the Mistral Straight, that is 1.2 miles long, and have at the end of it, a very fast right curve (Signes), ..the motorsport goes to a different feeling. (To my personal metrics, when you pass 160mph, it becomes a very different story !)

Here too, I would like to be honest, this Boxster it is not a super fast car, while a lot of things have been modified, the engine did remain the "original" 3.2.
(OK, there is an IPD plenum, a complete intake line including the throttle box at 74mm and, (a good difference) a real great exhaust header, but all together, I do not think that it changed drastically the base power !)

To me, I before “thinking engine”, I was working at many other points that I felt, to be more important than pure power. I felt that having a chassis very well trimmed (negative camber, coil over and very good tires) and then, real good brakes (The Brembo 350mm floating rotors with the six pistons calipers are just providing incredible braking, particularly when you change the Master cylinder, that gives you brakes that are well above the feeling of the already good OEM brakes !)

If you have doubts on the power of braking, just think (and remember) that on tracks, you are using the accelerator and the brake at the exact same amount of power per lap !

The other important point was to be as light as possible, all by remaining "comfy" ! (and not making a race car, that you would never consider to drive on public roads). It is easy to measure this feeling : ie.: drive the car with a 180 pound passenger, and then do it again with no passenger. Then you will have a good feeling of what it means to save this level of weight !

Yes, this is great Boxster, I’m still amazed how good is this chassis, it has simply a fantastic well usable envelope. Shall I add that in my life, I had multiple 911 during 30 years non stop as daily !

...no sales at all yet !

It is true, that I just spent 7 month in Europe, and was back last month, or, I did not made serious push for that !
but still, I keep up reading emails and messages !
I may will try to sell it using another channel, and, if nothing happen, will most probably keep the car, and export it to Europe.

Slow response to the ad is probably because your description does not contain the words tasteful, sympathetic, or bespoke!

Seriously though, GLWS. Looks like a great dual purpose car.

Thanks for the post. Yes, it is true that I'm not the type of guy that will say that about my car, ..Staying low profile !
I had the feeling that readers of this forum would know exactly what a Boxster is, and saying that a grand fa can lap Laguna Seca below 1:48 with it, ..it should say pretty much all about how this car could perform.
(Still with its "original" 3.2 engine !)
And about in what shape it is, I think saying that about 100 miles ago, it took the first rank (ok, tie!!) at a PCA Concours d'Elégance !

Yes, you are right: being a great track car and be also a good Concours winner, is not that common !
May be the top question is why I want to sell it after close to 10 years of ownership ??
Btw, the response of this question is quite personal, and I can say that it has nothing related to the car itself !

This being said, I think this makes me understand that the Boxster are not a model that is "searched for", only a rare and relatively "small" amount of drivers really known how good these cars are.

I appreciate your GLW, will see what's up, ..I may give up and export it to my home country !

..More than a year after this post, I can only observe that there is not interest on it
It could be only two things :
. Price too high
or
. Model /modifications not "liked"

I cannot easily change the mods, ..but I can change the price.
I tried to go in the original post, but was not able to make any edit (most probably post too old !)
So, I think, I will have to repost it, with a lower price : US$ 25'000
Will see it this make a difference !

Message to Moderator :
Could you let me know if there is a way to decrease the price of an "old" post ?
If not, I suppose that my only choice would be to "delete" (i see only marking it "sold") !! and reposting it.
Thanks in advance for your help on this.
