IMS is not as issue is completely true.
Good news is it's 1% failure rate. Bad news is it requires rebuild.

With model year 2006 through 2008 Porsche 987 Boxster, Cayman, and 997 911 engines, the intermediate shaft was redesigned and used a larger 6305 bearing.
The incidence of IMS failures in 2006-2008 Porsche Boxster, Cayman, and 911 models with the M96 or M97 engine is very low. We would estimate about a 1% failure rate.
Good news is it's 1% failure rate. Bad news is it requires rebuild.
