Up for sale is a 2016 Cayman GTS in Sapphire Blue and Black interior w/ PDK. It has 18K miles and has been in zero accidents. Wheels have zero curb rash. I am the third owner and bought the car in August 2018 with just 7K miles on the clock. It's been my weekend driver for the most part and has always been garaged. Never driven in snow (not that we have any in Texas) and very rarely in rain (maybe 2-3 times when caught in it unexpectedly). Never launched and never tracked. Always always always made sure to keep the RPMs below 3K until the engine oil was at operating temp of 160 degrees.
All maintenance is up-to-date per the Porsche recommended maintenance schedule and I have all the records to show for it.
New Pilot Sports 4S tires were put on earlier this year and they have maybe 1-2K miles on them.
I'm regretfully selling this car and my two others (an E46 M3 6-speed and E60 M5 SMG) because I'm relocating to NYC early next year.
Here is the full options list; it pretty much has most options except for PTV and the Burmeister sound system. I think what makes this special vs. most of the other 981 GTS out there is that it has the Alcantara delete for the steering wheel and shift ****. I purposely sought this out because I think Alcantara wears horribly on high-touch surfaces. I waited many months to find this spec back in 2018.

The only unfortunate con with this car is that in December 2019, I was driving on the highway and the front hood was hit by two pieces of debris that was kicked up by the car in front of me. The debris was from a major car accident that had taken place earlier and wasn't cleaned up yet. It left two scratches on the hood that I filed a claim with insurance to fix. This shows up as damage on the carfax. The front hood and bumpers were resprayed. So while I'm super bummed that this happened and it prevents this carfax from having a pristine record, it ironically meant that the car is in better paint condition because the respraying also filled in past rock chips. I recall the total cost of repairs was around $2K.
I have pictures of the scratches and am happy to send them to you per your request. I took this car to a body shop in the DFW area that specializes in high-end cars. When I was there, they only had Porsches, Ferraris, some AMGs, and one Huracan from what I recall. Point is, I've been very **** about this car and I went to great lengths to find the best body shop I could find. It was recommended to me by a wealthy friend who has a McLaren 720S and 911.2 GT3. The place is called Stuart's Paint and Body. It also has one small rock chip maybe about 2 MM wide on the rear.
any chance you'd be willing to trade wheels for my stain platinum set?
This thread is hurting my soul...I almost spilled my coffee when I first saw it, then I clicked on it and saw the black wheels on Sapphire Blue....I paused, ok I can change those later, then I saw the automatic transmission and moved on but it's still on here torturing me and now chance to put the platinum wheels on it....ARGHHHH... that means only have to deal with gearbox....
I keep thinking maybe, maybe, this a Sapphire Blue GTS.... the pretties Blue ever on a 981.... maybe I can do it and go auto???
Please, someone buy this so I can get some sleep again!!! : )
Ha, I say do it. The manual or die mentality growing on RL is overdone. The PDK is amazing and rewarding to drive. Slap the PDK in manual mode and use your right hand to change gears if you long for that engagement. Find a twisty country road, flirt with the redline and you can thank me later.
Bought Sapphire Blue GTS PDK a month ago. When she climbs through gears in Sport mode it is intoxicating. Coming from years driving 997 manual I have zero regrets so far.

Let me know if you end up getting it so we can trade wheels.
I'm out on this one, thought about it but my my Cayman T was finally built so just going to wait for it in a couple of painful months. But if someone is ok with automatic, this is the most beautiful color porsche has ever made and as we said, you can swap the wheels easily. Good luck with the sale! Sapphire Blue rocks!
