Description:
I am selling a Blaupunkt Reno 2.
The radio came out of my 1990 Porsche 964. It is in very good condition. It's tested and everything (with one exception, see below) is working.
In addition to the Reno 2 you'll get:
- mounting bracket
- original owner's manual
- 2 code cards
- 2 "code protected" window stickers (to make your car 100% period correct)
Here is what I tested and is working:
- Radio: AM/FM all working, all 5 programmable station buttons are working, the radio has good reception, the slider to change antenna sensitivity is working
- Cassette deck: is working, cassette motor runs steadily, no change in pitch when playing a cassette, auto reverse works, FF and FR are working, the button to reverse cassette playback is working, the LEDs to indicate direction are working
- LCD display: working, no missing segments
- LED: all working
- I hooked up speakers to all the speaker outputs and the sound was good and clear
- Volume control, balance, fader, treble, bass are all working and easy to operate, no "scratchy" noise when operating them.
- When hooked up to permanent 12V and ACC (following factory instructions), the radio remembers all settings and doesn't need to be un-locked again after turned off.
- all buttons have a nice tactile feel when pressed
Here is what is not working:
- The CPS (Cassette Program Search) button does not work, this feature allows you to skip to the next/previous track on a cassette as long as there's a 3 second gap between tracks. (probably the least important feature, in my opinion)
Here is what I was not able to test:
- The radio has on old-style round 8-prong DIN connector to connect to a Blaupunkt amp (see pictures). I neither have the cable nor the amp, so I couldn't test it. But that is actually not a problem: if you want to connect an amp, simply use an amp with speaker level inputs and connect it to the radio's speaker outputs.
