Description:
I've driven and raced this car for a long time and have decided it's time for a new challenge (maybe a car with an engine behind me).
22 year owner;. I bought it as a stock street car and turned it into a track car
125k miles on chassis, turbo, block, and trans
Cosmetically-challenged (hey, it’s a track car, not for concours )
Salvage title (light front-end damage from previous owner; bumper cover, nosepanel, and hood replaced) by prior owner. Body painted then by a mediocre painter. No major body damage (tap on rear bumper causing slight dislocation, light contact w/ tire wall wrinkling driver’s side front and rear fenders). A tree fell on the roof causing a bit of damage (repaired)
Car is ~2,900# with a bit of gas and no driver. Unless you’re >230# car needs a bit of ballast to make PCA F-class weight, so I’ve not gone through extensive light-weighting. A few DEs last 5 years. Last PCA race in 2014. Won first place in the multi-race competition at NJMP club race.
Suspension
Moton club sport 2-way remote reservoir with 650# front and 800# rear springs. Torsion bars present but machined down for minimal spring rate
Tarrett adjustable sways front & rear
Charlie Arms
Racer’s Edge billet hubs
Solid bushings throughout (alum or Delrin)
2 sets 8.5” & 10” x 17” Fikse 3-piece wheels (1 set no tires, other Nitto NT01 with ~1/2 life left ) and original forged 16” Club Sports (have Hoo rains which are old and should not be run at-speed)
Corner balanced and track-aligned
Car handles well. Currently setup to be a bit oversteery, but easy to adjust by softening the rear bar
Drivetrain:
PCA F Stock class legal (factory engine control system)
DME chip (now legal in stock class) and knock sensor by Fast44s
Recently rebuilt KLR (ECU Doctors) and DME guts from Focus 9 Tech (including diagnostic module). Spare KLR and DME accompany the sale.
SFR stage 2 headers
Lindsay 3” downpipe and exhaust (the mild steel version. It’s rusty and the sections won’t come apart, but no leaks). Wastegate dumped to atmosphere Magnaflow straight-thru muffler (nice sound).
Lindsay steam vent kit
Kiss aux oil cooler
ISV removed and intake ends capped
AC compressor removed. Alternator relocated using factory bracket
Solid engine and trans mounts
KLA strut tower brace and strut mounts (spherical bearings)
Maintenance within past 12 months: cleaned and flow matched injectors, fuel pump, FPR, coil, wires, plugs, TPS. CV joints cleaned and repacked, steering fluid cooler & lines replaced, new speed/ref sensors
Belts and WP replaced 2018
Trans shifts well and LSD works. Swepco fluid used. Clutch has ~20 weekends on it
A rebuilt head was installed several years ago (probably ~20 events since install)
Block is original. Some scratches in the bores so get some blowby. I change the oil after 2 weekends due to a bit of fuel contamination. Oil consumption about ½ quart per 2 track sessions). I replaced rod bearings several years ago and they looked great
Body & interior
GT Racing Le Mans rear spoiler
Brake cooling ducts & hoses. Ducted to center of rotor
Lightweight battery w/ Rennline hold down
Interior mostly complete. Sound deadening around driver removed. Headliner removed. Rear seatback removed and included in sale
Sparco Evo XL driver and passenger seats. Driver’s seat is mounted on floor (no sliders) and set far back for my 6’5” frame. Sparco sliders come w/ the car. Pass seat on sliders. Driver's seat harness holes modified to accommodate tall driver wearing a hans.
Safety Devices bolt-in cage. You can carry a full set of wheels inside by disconnecting the harness bar (3 in the hatch and 1 in the pass seat)
PCA-legal fire extinguisher
Wired and tubing for Cool Shirt. Cooler mount in the spare tire well (I may keep the cooler)
Rear hatch motor retained. Key switch is a bit flaky but footwell switch works fine
Wide-angle rear mirror. Door mirrors stock and motors retained
Center and door nets
Dash: switches: ABS reset, turbo coolant pump, rad fan hi/low, cool shirt pump. Gauges: AFR/boost, fuel pressure, oil temp, coolant temp
Window glass and motors retained. Glass windshield
Sunroof panel replaced with thin fiberglass. Motor removed
The bad:
Windshield fluid pump doesn’t work
Wiper motor slow, but runs
Rear hatch key release intermittent
Cosmetically-challenged
Slight leak from RMS. I drip occasionally
Driver’s side harness expires end ‘21
Trip odo doesn’t work
Had NASA log book in 2006 but do not know if it is still legal to run with them
Updates made to keep it legal w/ PCA requirements. I plan to race the Summit Point race in Sept if not sold so will get an updated logbook then.
Some spares (engine parts, filters, brake pads, etc.) included. I run PFC pads and have a few spare sets included in sale. Front rotors have 1 weekend on them.
AMB transponder and spot mirror not part of sale.
PM with questions.
