This vehicle spent it’s life in California and Texas from 2008-2019 among 3 owners. From ~2012-2019, it was owned by it’s 3rd owner who owned it under CPO for most of it’s life and had it serviced at Austin Porsche. The vehicle then was sold to a dealer in CA and then re-sold to Holt Motorsports in West Chester, PA – who then sold it to me 7 months ago. Carfax showed Holt and the CA dealer are owners when I bought it, but I went back and confirmed ownership details and spoke extensively with the last owner.
This was a dream car for me (look at my Rennlist history in 2014….I had planned to buy one then and instead went with a 2015 m3 when my wife became pregnant with our second child). I’ve enjoyed it immensely but I’m selling it as we’ve begun the process to build a house and with 3 growing boys I’m not enjoying always leaving one of them behind (the oldest can’t sit in the front seat for several years).
The vehicle was extensively serviced prior to my ownership and then purchased and serviced by Holt Motorsports 7 months ago when I bought it. I’ve tracked down and detailed out so much of it’s maintenance and repair history, which details a car meticulously cared for and serviced and that will give the next owner thousands of miles before needing a single thing. Here are some of the big items:
- 26.2k miles the 30k services was done by Porsche Austin along with replacement of all ignition coils and all o-rings on the B1 turbo oil tank
- 23.4k miles the engine was removed and the cams were pinned by Porsche Austin. I confirmed directly with Porsche Austin the extent of this service and that the cams were Pinned.
- At 17k miles/2013, the Clutch Slave cylinder failed. The slave and master cylinders were replaced by porsche austin, along with the resevoir, and the spoiler drive assembly. Clutch feels fantastic to me.
- I have other major maintenance/repair records going back to 2012. I've put them into an excel file, so happy to send it to prospective buyers. Car needs nothing for ~5k miles.
- I did just have a fiber optic failure in the MOST factory amp that was being a PITA to diagnose by an amazing local audio shop (Bangharts of West Chester). I ultimately opted to upgrade to kenwood micro amps and kenwood Excelson head unit. This work was just performed. I kept the factory amp on hand.
If you know 997.1 turbos, you know there are truly only 2 "weak spots" - the coolant pipes fail in about 20% of all mezger engines, and the cams spin out of place which can result in lost power. Of those two failure points, the cams spinning is far more expensive and PITA to fix if it happens - so having this done on this vehicle is a huge resolution of an issue the next owner will never have to face. Coolant pipes have not been pinned and show NO sign of leakage.
There are two scratches in the exterior paint. Both shown in photos. One is on the passenger side door and is a touched up ~1" scratch. The other is below the driver's side foglight, can't really see it when walking up to the vehicle, and is a touched up 1" scratch. No other paint issues I'm aware of. Interior is an excellent shape with what I'd describe as normal minor usage marks on the soft plastics by the door handle, scuff plate, etc. - leather is aging wonderfully.
Vehicle is located at my home in West Chester, PA. There are 3+ Porsche specialists within 5 miles, not including Main Line Porsche. Happy to answer questions, setup PPIs, take additional pictures.
Price is set at $79,500. If you look at current online listings (i.e. cars.com, etc.), you'll see this is on the low side for a clean, stock, well documented, ~30k mile 2008 6-speed. I priced this what I consider to be a tad low to help facilitate a prompt sale as I enter into a home-build project and considering it's December. Let me know how I can help make this your Christmas present
Joe
Did you mean NO sign of leakage? Very nice car, good luck with sale.

Patience (if you have it) will pay off in the end and this car should go to a good home.
GLWS, Joe!

Not my favorite use of time but he was an extremely knowledgeable and thorough guy who ultimately gave me even more confidence in what I'm selling. If there's gonna be a "tire kicker", this was the kind you'd want
I've got patience. At least until spring.
