After owning this car for an amazing four and a half years and 26k miles, I have a bigger carrot to chase in my life and it is finally time to part ways. It has never missed a beat, and the driving experience swings so far outside it’s class you can't help but laugh. Over the years a few tasteful enhancements have been researched and added to maximize the driving experience of this car. It is in excellent condition as you can see in the photos, the current/clean Pre Purchase Inspection by Porsche Conshohocken and Carfax report.
Please don’t hesitate to text/call me any time at 4848836197. As many of you may have seen over the years of posting on Rennlist on behalf of SOUL, AutoQuest Motorsports and myself…I am always happy to chat cars and ensure you make an educated decision.
As best the Cayman R community knows, it is 1 of 624 Cayman Rs delivered to the US and Canada, 2012 model year only. Of these 624 only 15% were optioned in Black, and 55% were optioned with manual transmission. Information courtesy of Simon Ogden's Cayman R database.
The actual number remaining is relatively unknown as most of the Cayman R’s were scooped up and converted into race cars for a competitive advantage in power/weight ratio in PCA Club Racing, which is why you don’t see many of the street cars around anymore.
Enhancements
SOUL Exhaust System
Softronic Software
Elephant Racing Adjustable Front Adjustable Control Arms
Elephant Racing Adjustable Rear Adjustable Toe Links
997 GT3 Brake Master Cylinder
Goodridge Stainless Steel Brake Lines
Numeric Racing Shifter Cables
PCS Innovations Intake System

I gotta talk to my wife, then cpa and then get loan approved from bank. In the meantime I need to sell my car. Glws (to me if all that happens). This way when I call you up I can actually say I have the money in my hands to pay you!
As a former Cayman R owner I can honestly say it’s the only car I’ve sold that still haunts me. I think of it often even after 4 years
It has a unique personality and attributes that deliver a brilliant driving experience. Best steering feel of any car I’ve owned.
Most Cayman R owners I’ve known have felt that^ way.
Good luck with sale. Saw this R on display for sale at pca njmp event and the car was immaculate.
Haha small world! Were you at the Schattenbaum or Riesentoter event? I had it parked front and center for both. Either way, I appreciate you taking a look and posting

Bump for a good guy
Lol I hope you're making good progress on all accounts! When I bought this car two weeks before I got married, a dog showed up in our apartment three days later. Keep that in your back pocket if your negotiations don't go so well with your wife

That's very well said, and thanks for chiming in with your feedback. One day in the future I aim to track this car back down and add it back into the collection. For the time being, it's time to get back into W2W racing and hone my edge while pursuing some investments. I can't sit on the sidelines anymore, the itch needs to be scratched haha. There's also an Aqua Blue Metallic 997.2 GT3RS that haunts my dreams I might try and pick up first in the next few years
Regards,
John Gaydos

That color scheme works so damned well. There was a Cayman R in Aqua for sale here 3 years ago that I wish I had gone to look at that I still think about. The silver graphics and wheels just work so well with that color. Looks pretty great with this black contrast too. I say grab that RS if and when you get the chance and PM it to me if not

I looked for an Aqua Blue CR for a year, couldn't find one anywhere. Two years later I'm driving through the pits at Sebring and what did I see driving past me....Aqua Blue Cayman R, only time in my ownership I had a little pang of jealousy until I saw it was PDK haha. If I see an ABM GT3RS pop up before I can grab it, I'll drag myself away from it and let you know haha.

Shipping isn't as bad as you think. If you're truly interested, we can work that out

Thanks very much my friend! We still need to catch up sometime soon, and I'm glad to hear you're busy as ever through this weird year we've been having. We're likewise very lucky to be thriving through it all.

Interesting that you say that^
When I sold my R it was to a collector in CA who has an enormous collection of beautiful and rare cars. It was quite a compliment he wanted to add my car to his stable. He and his daughter go to the track and he intended to track my car and have his daughter track it too (which I thought was so cool).
I told him I had mixed feelings selling and asked if he’d give me first right of refusal if he ever sold. He told me he’d put it in his will.
A few months back I got a call from one of the guys who maintains his collection. There was a question about the car (which I was happy to answer). I mentioned my request and he said that absolutely the instructions are to give me the first shot. It’s nice to know I’m first on his list. There was just something about that R that was truly special.
Tell the buyer you’d appreciate first right of refusal when they decide to sell.

Best of luck in the hunt for your unicorn!
That is an excellent recommendation and an awesome story, thanks for sharing C! You're very lucky to have found such a receptive buyer, and one willing to use the car as intended with his daughter is always nice to hear. Fingers crossed I have a similar experience haha.
