Description:

I've been a silent RL member for quite some time and I really enjoy reading the posts from the community. This time it is my turn to contribute by listing my beloved 993 race car.

In 2014 I started participating in a lot of track days and wanted to further advance my skill. At the time I was participating in PCA DE events with my garage queen 993 C4S and I found myself being overly cautious and tip-toeing around the track. It was not the perfect situation for skill-development. In its stock form the C4S was OK for DE, but I wanted something a little quicker and something that was designed for the task. I started searching for a high mileage 993 to build into a track car. ( There were other P-car options, but I just enjoy the looks of the 993 body style )

After months of searching it became clear that it was going to cost way too much money and take a lot of time.

I "switched gears" and determined that it would be a wise decision to find a car that was already "built". I came across this ex-pca clubracer in 2016 and fell in love.

The previous owner drove it straight from the showroom in 1995 to David White Racing in Tampa. Over the next 20+ years and over $200k in receipts, the car evolved into one of the fastest and most capable PCA race cars out there. I purchased the car from the original owner in 2016 and brought it to two DE events that year and one in 2017. After that I got married and started a family, and have sadly not used it since.

A rebuilt engine was put in at a cost of $27,000 just before I purchased it in 2015. The previous owner had converted the original motor to a 3.8 in the early 2000's and unfortunately it only lasted until 2014. It is probably one of the fastest 3.6L 993s out there and it is an absolute blast to drive. The grip is incredible and the re-gearing of the transmission livens it up and gets you out of the corners very quickly. It would be extremely costly to replicate such a car these days.

I start the car every few weeks and drive it around the block, but it has become clear that I just do not have the time to enjoy it anymore. It has not been on track since early 2017 and it pains me to see it sit in my garage. I contemplated keeping it for a few more years, but the family is growing and unfortunately track days are not a priority at this time.

I have outlined a "partial" list of the key modifications below. I have a 3" binder with hundreds of receipts from day one. I have not gone through them individually and I am sure there are more details that I am missing.

If you are interested in specific details and specifications I will gladly dig them up. I also keep in touch with the previous owner. I know that it was an Ex-PCA race car and has a logbook. I am not familiar with the PCA club racing rules and whether or not it meets certain criteria/class, etc. I am only a DE enthusuaist and that's what I used it for.

I am looking for a quick sale and am open to offers. ( actually hoping to replace it with an E39 M5 to use as a "family" car. If you have one and are itching to get into a 993 track car, let's talk)

The car is located on Long Island and I would be willing to deliver this beauty within 200 miles.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Call or text 631-672-6131

Brakes:
Bid Red Brake kit front/rear

brand new Pagid Pads

Accessories:

Extra set of rims,
Approx 300lbs of lead weights
various other parts and accessories ( Super-Trapp exhaust tips, extra pads, spare axle, etc)
Rennline floorboards
Momo removeable steering Wheel
Full weld-in Cage built by David White Racing in FL
Schroth harnesses
tach lights
Rennline Radio and Climat delete

What it needs:

It could use some touch up paint on the passenger door. When I removed the old livery, some of the paint came off with it. The front clear-bra on the hood also peeled when I removed the numbers and it would probably have to be re-done at some point.

It is a fully-functioning track/race car and has the normal track day bruises, chips, etc. It is not perfect, but it sure is fast and sounds incredible!

Posting receipts of some of the more recent engine work.

Additional work done in 2016 include new front ball joints.

A brand new RS style carpet kit will be installed next week to freshen up the interior.

Car is ready to be enjoyed

Motivated seller. Open to offers. Need space in garage

It would require some work. The e-brake would have to be connected, the turn signals, wipers, exhaust, and airbags also need to be installed.

The full welded-in cage would also have to be removed and the suspension would need to be changed. It is about 2.5" off the ground right now as it sits.

I'm absolutely in love with this track beast, this is exactly what I need for the track. Timing is about a year off but I hope I'm able to buy it from whomever buys it now.

What’s the widebody made of? Can you give more detail on it?
