1988 Turbo S 944 #1529The Porsche 944 Turbo S represents what most authorities consider to be the highest performance version of the highly successful 944 product range. This car was introduced in 1988 as a limited production run, fitted in the same manner as the "Turbo Cup" race car to homologate the series cars. Initially there were 1000 Turbo S cars built worldwide with 750 for the USA market and the remainder for the Rest of World markets. All these vehicles had the Option Code of M758.Following the initial run of Silver Rose cars, customers were offered the choice of interior and exterior colors for their Turbo S. These 944 Turbo S cars maintained all of the performance characteristics of the earlier car and the M758 Option code was continued onto the 635 cars that were subsequently sold worldwide. Very few of these second batch Turbo S cars made it to the US.What is certain is that all the 944 Turbo S cars will have a VIN/Chassis Number that will be in the following ranges
Rest of World: WPOZZZ95ZJN100001 - 1875
USA: WPOAA295_JN150001 - 1874
A chance to own an appreciating asset, Turbo S #1529 is in original condition with a few subtle mods in the special paint color of Stone Grey Metallic over Burgundy. Clean as a pin, this car has all paperwork from day 1 Brumos delivery including the original window sticker. Documented 4 owners, building new home or would keep. Mechanical rebuild at 61k miles incl engine upgrades to 300+ rwhp, last belt service 84k miles. Porsche Classic radio, new R Budd dash. Such a beautiful color combination....
Rare car and getting more desirable by the day;
Best wishes on your sale. You know you will miss it when it's gone !
Bump report on Zermatt 944 Turbo S that sold on BaT for $58,500 last week. I saw the car this weekend and this Stone Grey car has much better paint, hard to beat an original paint car with all the updates done in fantastic condition!

. Why not do BAT and get more money for it than your asking here?
I have the stock wheels as seen in the listing, I don't think anything has been done aesthetically that could not be easily reversed. What you may not know about the wheels is that is the only way to get a "real" tire on the car as there isn't much to be had with the original 16" wheels.
The 19k mile car has been repainted in the front and the clearcoat is failing, it needs some mechanical work (mine was mechanically rebuilt at 61k miles and well maintained) so I would hesitate to say the comparison is too much of a stretch. The 19k mile car is sitting about 20 feet from me right now as I helped the new owner pick it up from Hershey and am storing it for him for a few weeks.
The reality is that you get what you pay for, if the miles are a turnoff then this car isn't for you, but the condition is actually better in many ways that the car you refer to. I will say that the Zermatt car has a great interior as you would expect, but this one really isn't that far behind. Seems like those recent sales of low mileage cars have some story or an extensive work list, so even low miles isn't a slam dunk.
Thanks for looking, point taken, but I think the valuation as a percentage of recent sales is reasonable and happy to engage politely with differing opinions.

GLWS though, it would look so much better on stock wheels.
Does this have any engine/suspension mods or is it mechanically stock?
Original suspension including adjustable shocks and Turbo S package (928S4) brakes, original transmission rebuilt at 61k miles and Powerhaus upgrades to engine with 310rwhp at the same mileage. All that is shown at the Evernote link in post #1 with records. Thanks for looking.
