Description:

Well, here it goes=(
Bought the car from a forum member in June 2017 with 123,760 miles.
I was planning to turn into clean track/street car. I did not had much of a time to drive it around, only did one track day, one local PCA autocross and some daily driving. But one day on the way back to home all of a sudden started to hear knocking sound by the time I'm in the corner of my house got worse and I stopped the car and towed it to my mechanic. Mirage International Inc. they specialize with Porsche racing cars.

Long story short Cylinder Scoring, need a rebuilt or replacement engine. Car still starts, runs and drives but I would not recommend it to drive. This happened almost 4 months ago, I have been talking with few shops and possible 4.0 upgrade(18k to 24k) and I was really going to do it but priorities in life changing. I decided to move on=/

Here is the pretty much listing from the previous owner;
"
I purchased the car on 5/13/2015 and had a full PPI completed including compression/leakown and cylinders scoped for scoring. I have records/receipts for all work/upgrades/service that has been completed on the car since my ownership. The prior ownership shows services at Downtown LA Porsche and Scientific Motors. Carfax/Autocheck is accident free. See below the short list of modifications added and a service log time line since my ownership. Exterior Condition: As you can see in the photos the front bumper has some blemishes and chips in the paint. Some idiot decided to back into me at a stop light a few weeks ago. I have the vehicle scheduled next week to go in to have the front bumper reconditioned and will include that as part of the sale. There are a few other minor chips in the paint on the rear bumperettes and lower right corner of the rear bumper. There is a scratch in the paint about .5"long on the top of the wheel arch on the front right fender. Small ding on the top of the hood left side near the windshield. Both wheel sets have some minor curb rash but the Sport designs hide it very well with the plasti dip. Underside of front bumper has the typical scratches and scuffs from curb stops.
Interior Condition: Just normal wear and tear on the center console, key surround and window switch surrounds. Driver/Passenger seat bolsters are in great shape with no rips or tears. Climate control assembly is new so there is zero wear which is common. Radio ***** could be replaced as they are a little sticky. Back seat bottoms have been removed but are included in the sale. A few scuffs on the edge of the seat backs from passengers getting in and out. No odors or smells in the car (non smoker). Cup holders in perfect working condition with no sagging. No stains in the carpeting and new OEM black floormats just installed.
Mechanical Condition: Everything on the car excluding the CD changer (disconnected for Mobridge input to PCM) is in proper excellent working condition. There are no fluid leaks of any kind. RMS was just changed when clutch was done. Ignition range report shows 21 stage 2 over-revs see photo below.
Road manners: Vehicle is very tight on the road but isn't floaty like it would be with the stock suspension, I rarely use PASM sport mode as it is almost too firm. There is no wind noise or vibrations at speed. I just removed the Torque Solutions engine mounts and installed new OEM units to reduce cabin noise. TS mounts are already sold and not included with the sale. The Aasco flywheel allows revs to come up quickly but you get a noticeable gearbox noise when transmission fluid is hot and in neutral with clutch engaged. I cannot hear the gearbox chatter with windows up or during normal acceleration. Toyo R888 tires are currently installed. They are a tad noisier than the very quiet Pilot sports. I have changed the oil every 4-5 months or max 3,000 miles and have never experienced any oil loss/consumption.Never had any puffs of blue smoke at startup.
"

In my ownership car really didn't need anything except the exterior stuff,I purchased
- OEM aero bumper (Still New in box) (Rennline, radiator grills,gt3 smile vent kit with cutting template and grills)
https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/997777.html
-GT3TEK GT3 RS Rear Bumper (NEW Polyurethane)
http://www.gt3tek.com/PHP/lupa.php?id=RB%20%20GT3%20RS
-Getty GT3 RS Wing Carbon Fiber top wing (used)
I also got the OEM spoiler grills and accessories along with oil sticker=)

I think I included everything I can, uninstalled parts are pretty much optional, I would really like to sell as a package but it really depends on the price, I also feel like parting out the car might worth more but lets see if anyone would be interested it as a package.

All you need an engine and you got yourself a rock solid track/street machine.

Let me know if you have any questions. I haven't decided on the PRICE but please don't low ball and please be reasonable, I'm sure upgraded parts and having with stock parts worth something. I can always resell the exterior stuff.

Let me know your offer.

If interested, I can get the 4.0 upgrade and sale price would be +40K

Unhappy

Would be interested in car + extras for $18k. I would probably not be using the new aero parts (bumpers, wing) or extra set of wheels (Porsche Carrera Sport 19's), so would be looking at around $16k and you can keep/resell these exterior bits.

Anyway, PM me or respond if you want to continue the conversation. I am unable to PM as I am a new member and have not met my requisite 3 post minimum.

Trust me I'm surprised too. Believe it or not, I wasn't even driving hard or anything.I used to be in spec944 was doing it regularly, I mean when you do autocross and trackdays, you dont really drive hard on the street at least I dont. Few things can trigger, car wasn't driven much, I dont really recall the oil level in that morning, but bottom line, I kind of feel it just a bad luck.

OP, instead of going the costly 4.0 route why not just get it resleeved via RND etc ? Do you know approx cost with this option and pros/cons..

would you rather to fix it for 10k and hope noting goes wrong after or rebuilt to 4.0 and drive like you mean it for 20k?

A Few questions:

* The early photos appear to have been taken much earlier. How many years/miles ago were those photos taken?
* There appears to be damage on the front bumper due to impact. In addition to the paint missing in the middle, there are cracks in the bumper paint. Can you give details on how this happened and if there is any damage behind the bumper?
* The headlights are significantly hazier in later photos. Was the car stored/parked outside frequently, or is there another reason they look so weathered compared to earlier photos?

-early photos are with filters that's why better looking. But yes it was taken last year, probably 2k miles less than now.
-Front damage is pretty much, back and forth with towing, there is no impact or accident, all it needs a painting.
- Car was pretty much back and forth with few mechanic shops and stored in the garage until last month I decided to sell the car got back from mechanic.
It is in my driveway, but I have the outdoor cover on it.
I didn't really mind the cosmetic stuff since I was planning to put on the GT3 kit but plans changed.
