Description:

Hey Guys- I'm reluctantly listing my R53 2005 Mini Cooper S for sale. I absolutely love this car, it is a blast to drive. This is a zero stories car, it is in excellent condition, and I wouldn't hesitate to drive it cross country tomorrow. I purchased this car from my Uncle (original owner) back in 2014, he was getting into his late 60's and needed a car that was a little easier to get in & out of. Driving home to Indiana from South Carolina in 2014, the supercharger failed. A new supercharger, water pump, and thermostat was installed by Mini of Knoxville, TN. The car has been completely trouble free ever since, only requiring routine maintenance. I hate to sell it, but I'm out of garage space now that I just recently picked up a Cayenne GTS from a fellow Rennlister.

This Mini is a fantastic and economical daily driver that looks less than ½ its age and mileage. It would also make an ideal first car for a teenager.

Here's some additional info on the Mini.

  • '05 R53 Mini Cooper S (2005 brought refresh to front lights/updated interior)
  • Silver/Black roof & mirrors with Black Leather
  • 6 Speed Manual
  • 120k miles
  • All records since new
  • Clean Indiana title in hand
  • Zero track time
  • Completely stock drivetrain
  • Excellent condition, interior looks like it has 30k miles. No rips, tears, excessive wear.
  • No leaks
  • No warning lights
  • Have original window sticker & 2 keys
  • 2 owner car, but just one family- I purchased from my uncle in South Carolina
  • New OEM supercharger, water pump, t-stat in 2014 done by Mini of Knoxville @ 95,000 miles ($4,400 repair)
  • No accident history/paintwork
  • Harmon Kardon stereo with Aux input (amazing sound for an OEM system)
  • Panoramic roof
  • Xenon headlights (no yellowing of the lenses)
  • OEM Mini all season floor mats (Original to the car, they work great, but are showing their age)
  • Original clutch with zero slippage & perfect engagement(first owner was almost exclusively highway (95,000), he drove it to/from Atlanta, GA to his farm in SC)
  • 15mm H&R spacers front and rear with black extended lug bolts
  • "One Ball" exhaust mod (deletes secondary resonator- just adds a little more tone), exhaust appears 100% stock.
  • 215/45 Continental Control Contact Sport A/S W rated All Season Tires(MUCH better ride than runflats) with less than 10k miles on them- rotated @ 120k
  • Mobil 1 every 5k miles (at most) with Mahle filter most recent @ 120k
  • Transmission fluid change @ 120k with Redline fluid
  • New Interstate battery 2018
  • New rear wiper @ 120k
  • New drive belt, pulley and tensioner @ 120k
  • Fresh front OEM rotors & Textar pads (have new rear Textar pads in box), rear pads have 60-70% life left
I tried to capture a few of the cosmetic imperfections with some high quality pictures:
  • Two dimples in the roof near the antenna (PDR could pull these out, never bothered me)
  • The front lower plastic grill is pulled back a bit from the lower chin spoiler- again never bothered me
  • Pin size door ding by the fuel door
  • Some minor rash on a few of the wheels
  • Normal rock chips for a 120k 13 year old car
As you can see from the details and the pictures, I'm pretty fanatical about my cars. I detailed cars through high school and undergrad, and the bug never left.

Asking $5,900 OBO. Car is located in Southern Indiana (Evansville)

Damn! I JUST bought a new daily. Had I seen this 2 days ago, I'd probably have this! I had one of these back in college and it was an utter blast. Perfect city car too. GLWS!

Thanks, these late R53's are really special cars updated lights, better quality interior materials. They drive like go carts, but have a shocking amount of space inside.

Price lowered, $6,500

Nah, already have the race/track car box checked! This is a terrific street car (I'm guessing it would be a blast on track too).

Nice! It’s super light and a good car in the twisties. I’m heading to the track Sat/Sun for a 2 day endurance race.

Cheers and have another bump
