Macan EV: Impressions of Frozen Blue Metallic?
#16
Maybe flat isn't the perfect word, but I had a Frozen Blue Taycan as a loaner for 2 weeks and it's Baby Blue. It's always Baby Blue. It isn't as metallic as the other options, hence "flat", and almost appears to have a thicker coat of paint.
It is, in my opinion having owned & driven a lot of Porsches, a poor reinterpretation of Mexico or Miami Blue, two very sporty colors. They both also were less metallic than other colors but had really striking, rich tones to them. Frozen Blue is Baby Blue and not sporty.
I do think it'll look less bad on the Macan vs the Taycan and you should get the color you want.

I really don't think FBM is meant to be an interpretation of Mexico or Miami. I think the closest classic Porsche colour to FBM is Meissen Blue which was offered in the late 50s and sporadically since --- FBM is a touch darker (and metallic) but a very similar hue to Meissen.

Agreed that it is not as sporty as Mexico or Miami and, to many, it will look Baby Blue or Powder Blue. I get it, neither of those descriptions is considered very flattering. But IMHO, FBM looks great on the Macan Turbo, contrasting well with the gloss black lower body trim, privacy glass and dark lighting accents (especially at the rear). I also think it will hide dirt better than most of the colours on offer other than maybe IGM or Dolomite. I'm not trying to convince anybody on this --- as you say, it may be the least optioned of the colours --- but every time I see a Taycan in FBM, I do a double take. I'm following my gut. Resale value be damned!
