Default Test Drive

When are the motor journalists getting these cars for their full review?
When putting a deposit on Macan 4, I was told the cars will be available to customers for test drive from June/July, in the UK. I wonder if it's the same in the US 🤔

We heard the same on stocking of dealers and customer events around mid year.

Journalist access is part of Marketing and they have special events where they can come drive and review the cars.

That would be good, sooner the better. Really waiting for motor journalists to do a full review of how it is like to drive, handling and get real world range tests with the impact of different tyres etc etc.
I guess Porsche are waiting for the weather to get better before handing the cars to journalists

In the video below, second half, the French journalist seems impressed: « the torque is amazing, it’s a Porsche, I do feel the car and this is very Porsche, dynamism and vivacity are amazing thanks to the optional rear Axle Steering etc. »
Seems to be a nice first glimpse!

I was talking to my local dealership last week (Northeast USA) and they mentioned that launch cars were initially planned for arrival in July, but would not be available for test drives to the public initially. Sounds like dates might be slipping back a bit, though initial customer deliveries are still planned for September.

wondering if I’ll fall into those initial September deliveries or later in year, seems like not all dealers still know exactly what their allocations will be, wonder if more will be fleshed out over the next month or two.

Spoke to a dealer two weeks ago in Connecticut. He said they’re expecting first delivery in July. I was surprised to hear, and it syncs up with prior statements on this thread. Wonder if that’s delayed now.

Local dealer said yesterday they are expecting their first demonstrator in June and will be having an open house event right afterwards. We hope that schedule holds.

Perhaps just the demonstrator cars in June/July, but not the customer deliveries till later in the year. 🤔

Swung by my dealer this afternoon to make some final changes to my build before the freeze date and they shared an update that Porsche is holding all (including initial launch demo cars) until September. Their Macan 4 demo car was built in March but they will receive it on the same day as the initial customer deliveries, which is right around 9/18.

Different news from different sources. My Porsche dealer in London confirmed they are getting Demo Macans in June/July. So, we shall see.
Also, check this response to a question to Kyle Conner below:
