Dealership has told me that there will be special events in may for customers. So porsche is able to build the macan EV for real !
But, he also told me that porsche is still working to improve the software.
I understand that the delay between first build dates (may/june) and first delivery dates (september) is the time to complete the new optimized version of the software ; and to install it (probably not an OTA process).
One again, it seems that all that lack of information, delays are the consequences of software issues.

My dealership has first hand opinion about Macan EV: he was at the Lisbon event.
What does he think?
When you see ICE Macan and new Macan EV, side by side, the ICE looks very old. He was very surprised by that.
On the road, sensations, precision were amazing. They even don’t see the need for the Turbo’s extra power (vs the Macan 4).
They also test drive a TMS plaid during this event: to him, not the same league.
Normal for a porsche dealership to say that porsches are the best, but the guy was very (very!) and genuinely impressed.

Thank you beye. Very informative and like you, I appreciate what your dealer said just as you conveyed it. Even better yet is when we get range third party results and WE get to make our own behind the wheel impressions.

I have heard exactly the same comment from three different people in three different dealers. Interesting!

As Porsche has configured the Turbo and the 4, if you add a certain number of performance options to a 4 you find you might as well get a Turbo. That's what persuaded me. But, who knows, perhaps I'll just be frustrated by extra power I can't even use in the US.

Maybe dealers are pushing the 4 because they can get them?

"This car has too much power" said no one ever.

I had already ordered a Turbo, so I guess dealer just told me what was his feeling, even though, for sure, it’s easier to provide customer with a Macan4 allocation…
Why a Turbo? it comes with all « basic » options I am looking for.

il not so sure about that. Try a 991 GT2RS or an older Ruf and you will realise that power can overwhelm the traction of the car (even in the dry) ans that can make for an unsettled and adventurous ride.

I doubt this will be the case for the Macan EV “turbo” but a as a general “no one ever” statement, I do disagree…

We have watched the Leipzig test drivers hammer full throttle on Macan EV turbo models in launch mode, and seen little or no wheel slip.

Exactly. Turbo power looks very exciting on paper. But in practical terms with speed limits everywhere, it has no practical use. Even on highway cruising, every car is cruising at the same speed limit.

We do not need to criticize anyone’s choices. For is next a poster noting that another’s interior option trim is a waste of money?

How about if we all get excited that a) we are able to afford a Macan (that can be a feat in and of itself) , b) that every combination of options or not is what that person (the purchaser) wants — and we celebrate that even if we know that upon re-sale most options do not bring back full purchase price, and perhaps most importantly c) whatever anyone chooses for their Macan is THEIR right choice.
