air/water?both

I have put a deposit on a 1997 993 C2S currently being imported to U.S from Japan. I'm very curious about the 6 speed manual transmission (G50-21) in Japanese market cars. All markets worldwide received G50-20 6 speed and Japan only received G50-21. Anyone know the difference and the reason behind the difference. Thanks in advance!
