Default First DE ever

So it took me about 6 years of ownership of my 928 to finally get out on the track.

I was at Watkins Glen for the PCA Niagara Region event this weekend and boy is my arm tired! Those point-bys are a real workout. You watch them on videos and they look easy, but it really takes some conditioning to keep doing that turn after turn.

At one point I felt like an Engineer, I was driving the train baby! (lots of point-bys on the front straightaway that time).

I had a great time but I don't think I'm doing it right, apparently I used the brake more than I did the gas (Is that even possible?) and I boiled my street brake fluid or something. Had to flush and refill with some super blue even though it was only two weeks old.

Next time I want to try to pass someone... Anyone.

Similar experience at my first (and second, and third, etc.) DE day.

Last time at the track I made sure to start from the pack and enjoyed passing everyone in my run group. DE days get more enjoyable with practice and a good coach!

PCA events are not always about cars. Sometimes they are about trains.

The good news is that you would be less likely to boil brakes.

The bad news is that your girlfriend will dump you when she sees you donning the old time engineer hat after a run session.

Woot woot.

Default me too!

I had my first DE yesterday as well. Tons of fun and fortunately got moved up to DE-2 where I quickly became the locomotive. I'm hooked!
